Just saw the Blue Light on my Wii... It says update will improve menu performance...

Yeah ok. I'm guessing they saw Sony update their "security" from Pirates so Ninty probably thought it would be a good idea to do the same.

I never know what I'm actually hoping for in an update but I never seem to get it.

Yeah I got the message too just a few minutes ago. It says Wii Menu Version 4.3 has been improved. I already have my Wii updated to 4.3 though so I may not even need the update.

Edit: Well I just accepted the update and it's downloading so I guess I did need it anyway. I thought it might've been the same update from Metroid: Other M but, I guess it's just an update for that update.

It's probably version 4.3.2 or something. They just never say it. All it does is stop more piracy temporarily. It's what about 90% of Wii updates do.

It's very slow. Just leave it on and go out for a run or something. It'll take at least 10+ minutes to update, depending on your connection.

I can hope for an update that makes my Metroid Other M disc readable or I still need my Wii open to clean manually? (LOL) Whenever anyone has the official description of the update please post Regards

Not really, as these are firmware files they overwrite the previous ones. It may make the system files bigger, but they may well make them smaller.

I wonder if they'll ever be able to make it so we can have wallpapers or something on our Wii Menu. That would be cool :)

I don't think ive come across one yet that takes up less room than the original. My remaining memory drops everytime i update. And for what? To hold the hackers off for two weeks? Whenever nintendo gives me something cool like the SD card menu thats great but wasting my time and memory to stop a bunch of guys playing mario flash on their wii? Stuff it.

Lame. The last meaningful update was 4.0 I think.

If you delete all the memory does it go back up and retain the lastest firmware?
