Wheres all the games for us? We only get like one or two GOOD hardcore games every two months and that sucks. I was at Game the other day and my eyes were in pain after witnessing Carnival Games and a whole bunch of other casual crap on the shelves. I mean don't get me wrong we still get great hardcore games but the problem is that there's not enough but way too much casual games instead. I don't know about you but i find it embarrassing watchingCarnival Games advertised for my Wii. I think that the Wii deserves more games for the hardcore audience and i honestly wouldn't mind seeing casual games on the Wii too but the thing is that the majority of them suck harder than Nintendo's last E3 conference.
Nintendo did state that this was supposed to be a console for "everyone" but for me i think its only aimed at young kids and old dudes.

Kind of ironic that you're embarrassed to see Hannah Montana on the Wii when a new video game of hers was announed at the Sony Conference this year, in addition to Hannah Montana being available on the 360, PS3, PC and DS already as well  Just going by that one Hannah Montana statement alone, not a very valid point now is it? I could go on but everyone is going to see right through this topic and be laughing in front of our monitors.

I think it is gonna be hard for devlopers to make new hardcore games until wii start supporting them. I mean heck the conduit has been out almost a month and is still shy of 200k sold :(

I lol'd at the fact that the sony spokesman at E3 actually chose to mention Hannah Montana like it was something special. I think he said something like, "the PS3 will have a number of great titles, like infamous, rachet in clank, metal gear solid, tony hawk and Hannah Montanna" *crickets in audience*

Hannah Montana is harcore, without a doubt. :D(I was joking)

Ya I do agree...the Wii isn't getting the hardcore titles it deserves.

Don't agree, because I can see plenty of good games (hardcore or not, they are fun to play). And I seriously doubt many people have played every good game the Wii has to offer, which isn't the Wii's fault.

hmm lets see people buy all that license crap while games like NMH, Madworld, The Conduit, Overkill, Deadly Creatures, De Blob etc you all that stfuff you consider "teh hardcorez" sit on the shelves and you wonder why stores have things like that on the shelves. Don't meaure a library by what you see on the store shelves check a game list every now and then and perhaps you would have a better awareness of what is actually available.

You complain, and yet you won't buy them when they actually come out. You sure had better buy Little King's Story this week.

If you can't find hardcore games you are not looking very hard. If you can't find them it is probably a sign that you can't play them.

Why is that a problem? If you want hardcore games you can go out and get them. If you don't want casual games don't get them. But why would the total game ratio matter too you?

who would have thought that the easy to make, with development time a quarter of what it takes to make solid game at a fraction of the cost shovelware would outnumber the solid titles? hmm,,, oh I know, anybody who payed any attention to the library of the PS2. The only reason people didn't make a big stink about it like they do now, is because this whole hardcore vs casual nonsense did not exist.

It matters to me because everyone is talking about how the wii is a babies console and that is because most of them games are casual and targeted for little ones which matters to a teenager like me but u are right i could just only buy hardcore games and leave the casual games out but its not easy with all those kiddie wii games u see advertised on tv lol u know

Really, I mean these children act as if they invented the video game and no one over the age of 17 should be allowed to play. Who would have thought that there would be this whole market of gamers that might actually have fun playing a non-violent non-FPS? Oh that's right...Nintendo did.

I think only the kiddies care, how about trying what was going on for the near 3 decades before the Wii came out. Instead of caring about what games are released along side the games you like, get the games you like and forget the other ones. It worked wonders before people started caring about why there are party games, and why there are fitness games, you don't like them don't support them. You only want games like NSMBW, Punch Out, Desperate Struggles then buy those and thats that. It doesn't matter what comes out, just buy the games you want and leave it at that. And for the kiddies who care what the other fanboys say about the Wii being a kiddie console etc, thier just fanboys, thier opinion is a non issue.

Well I'm a fanboy. Would that make my opinion an automatic non issue about anything I say regarding another console?

I think 3rd party developers are doing a fine job providing hardcore titles for the Wii with games like No More Heroes, MadWorld and The Conduit. We just need to purchase these games in order to communicate to these developers that we like their work. Otherwise, developers won't invest their time to make hardcore Wii titles and instead develop for other consoles.

There's a bunch of 'hardcore' games coming out I didn't even know of prior to reading this thread. There's also a few that are out now. I play all my bloody shooters on the PC. Sorry to tell you but the Wii is for what I bought it for, SSBB, Mario, Zelda, ect.

I agree. The Wii needs better FPSs, RPGs (the western kind), and strategy games. It's got some cool arcade games though, like Shaun White, but I had no idea the games would be so much different than what I was used to on the PC.

'hardcore' isn't the solution. it's part of the problem. just look at the conduit. things might get better once we get past this silly terminology, because developers are making games now using the same words.

agreed. and not just more hard core games, but GOOD hard core games. No more bad ports like COD:W@W(okay, maybe a good portal port). I mean half the Hard core games areeither Resident evilor a Nintendofranchise. There needs to be moreTalented 3rd parties(no, not like high voltage software)working withnintendo to develope for the wii. It needs to be taked more seriously.I want a Wii game by Valve, or Epic, or Bungie. I mean seriously.

lol I had competitions with my friends playing SOTC, and Mario Galaxy you can have competition in any game you want. But what is that the new meaning of hardcore, games you can compete in? Wouldn't that make every mini game compliation hardcore? The Wii would be the most hardcore system out there lol. This is why there is no such thing as hardcore and casual because the meaning changes every week. Going by all the meanings that have sprung up over the last 3 years, there isn't a hardcore game to be found on any console. Now what the Wii does need is for Capcom and SNK to get of there backsides, and collaborate to release Capcom vs SNK for the VC arcade.

You know I will just ask this right here, for all those saying they need more hardcore and Wii games aren't hardcore enough for them and it needs people like Epic and Bungie developing for them. Explain what makes Gears of War more hardcore than Wii Sports.

You know I will just ask this right here, for all those saying they need more hardcore and Wii games aren't hardcore enough for them and it needs people like Epic and Bungie developing for them. Explain what makes Gears of War more hardcore than Wii Sports. Sepewrath

Poor comparison to help your point. Gears has a storyline, local co-op, multiplayer online, and curbstompings. Wii Sports is a tech demo, which isn't a bad thing, I freaking love Wii Sports, but it doesn't take itself for anything other than that.

*picks a better example* why isnt super mario galaxy hardcore enough. we never needed online leaderboards or multiplayer. why the hell it's so urgent now, if you can still have lots of fun (for quite a long time, IMO) with the game?
