Vegas 2 is very similar to the original, with a few extra features like terrorist hunt, which puts you in a level with enemies, mainly aimed at getting your rank up. Haven't played mario kart on wii but from what i've heard it is very good. I am having a blast with Vegas 2 though, again Ubisoft have done a great job. If I were you I would get vegas though, especially if you have online.
I'll go with Vegas 2 if you are planning to play online. The single player is hardly worth 60 bucks. But it you have a lot of friends that come over to play, then I might go with Mario Kart. If you get Vegas look me up though. billyd53. Good luck with whatever you get.

Mario Kart Wii is the first home console online Mario Kart game, that's a nice precedent to look forward towards. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a solid shooter that definitely feels more like a expansion pack. And it is of course yet another online shooter, nothing really new there.
I personally would go with Mario Kart Wii.
There are of course some other factors to consider like, do you already have any online shooters your playing right now? Like COD4 or Halo 3??
Also, may I add why no GTA IV in your consideration?? There's a great looking game with immense replay value in single player and online play.
