wii developers have resorted to "waggle" controls for so long, i forgot anything else was possible. then i dusted off wario ware smooth moves yesterday and was reintroduced to the power of the gyroscope. the starfox minigame, the first person sword fighting game, the dance game, the balloon flyer game, the metriod game; so many ideas were introduced and so far only ir controls have prospered. wii sports, wario ware, metroid prime 3, and racing games are the only games i can think of with real motion controls.

so will the wii ever be what we hoped it would? tiger woods 09 seems like it may set developers on course. also, isn't there going to be a 1:1 starwars game, or was that just wishful thinking?

so what does everyone else think? have motion controls done well so far? what does the wii motes future look like? will the wii be remembered for inovative controls, or just different controls for racers and fps?

I think the Wii mote has been going good for the developers who make crapy games for easy money. But for us the gamers it has not been good at all with a couple of exceptions. I think over time as the console matures developers will begin to use the Wii mote to its fullest, and we will have a better library of games.

In the future i think the Wii mote would not be used at all, and future controllers wont even look like it. I think the Wii mote can have many new advances to make it better, and who knows maybe Sony or Microsoft may use something with motion sensing.

I get the feeling the next Ninty console might not be far off, the devs are lazy on Wii, the games are sub-Gamecube and PS2 graphics, what's with that eh? The GC was more powerful than the PS2.

Btw if the formatting screws up, blame the iPhone of mine, sorry.

well i didn't mean that far in the future, but while we're on that topic, i think the future of controlers is the digit-suite.

I bet the next Nintendo Console will have Head Tracking as a new way to control.

i dont think that more than a handful of games (you listed most of them Micahismyname) have done the wii justice but i think that that will soon be remidied
