Doesn't anyone else feel that wiisports could be applied to just about any kind of game, not just sports too. I think you could take any of the minigames in wiisports and make an intense action, adventure or rpg game out of it.

WiiBoxing- a first person game where you walk around beating up bad guys. Wii Double Dragon anyone? I think you could still control movement well with the analog stick, and you could throw weapons by putting your guard down to point the cursor on the screen. Also, maybe make it so that you have to put your guard down to get better visibility, so you would enter an area with guard down but ready to put up your dukes.

Wiibowling- first or third person game, where the game is made for bowling balls, which would be some kind of weapon in the game. The world would of course be well engineered to make it a bowling friendly, just how tony hawk games turn the world into a skate park. You could upgrade the balls you use and such.

Wiitennis- Project HAMMER actually looks like it would work similiarily to what I'm saying, if the game still exists that is...

Wiigolf / Wiibaseball- less obvious, but the mechanics could be used in some way. Remember that your character in wiigolf could be the ball. Wiibaseball could provide mechanics for action games, hitting enemies but maybe also pitching. Yeah, less so for these ones I guess.

Again, it would require movement on the analog stick or dpad that might be a bit awkward at times, but I still think it would work

not really, the mechanics in wii sports are shallow, theres things that appear to be directly applied to motion sensors but the games arrive at their own conclusions by simpler means. Theres things the wiimote is good at, but utilising it in conventional genres is proving more difficult, or at least not as useful as poeple would like it to be.

I dont think they're any more shallow than other sports games. I'm not saying that a wiiboxing action gamewould be one mindless fight after another. There is enough depth in that game to apply it to a grander adventure game with wildly different enemies, strategies, items and settings. Add in a story and plot sequences and you have a pretty good game, imo. It's not so obvious in the other wiisports games, but the potential is definitely there. I just can't think of it.

Yea, i think the poeple making games are in the same boat. They just can't see thetypeof game yet. Kinda like the melee in fear, or using the nunchuk as a shield and the mote as a weapon. Ill be surprised if they don't make a game like that but they haven't really trusted a big budget for a wii game yet, they just pass it off to a newer team. Like necronesia... thats just above a student level project.
