A thought just occured to me when pondering on how sweet F-Zero Wii could be. It could very well suck as well imo.

Not so much suck as in it scoring below 5, but I could totally see a new installment score in the 6's to 7's when it could possibly be a 9. It's not fair because of the Wii's hardware abilities to score a game so low, but you all know how sites are...

Lets take two things into consideration here. I'll give my thoughts on why it could, and why it couldn't...and lets debate it.

Graphics-

to me, F-Zero is a game about blazing speed, with beautiful enviroments and courses that get better with each installment. We've seen upgrades to each game in the series with each new console which is great. The Wii, obviously better in the hardware department compared to the GC, should be able to produce a very solid, smooth looking game. With the awesome designs of the vehicles, I'm sure the Wii could handle 40+ on screen at once in a single player/split-screen with no drop in frame rate. This brings me to my other point...

Multiplayer (online)-

I'm sure we all love or somewhat like MarioKart Wii because of the new controls, the same old loveable characters, etc. But in order to make that online experience that we all waited soooo long for good...something had to be sacrificed, and that was gfx.

Again, no one should expect PS360 visuals here (I'm not, so please don't jump to conclusions). This is just my personal opinion, and I think the game could go either way. I'm not worried about the controls because I could see it being just like Excite Truck but only with more precision and timing required (maybe even better with M+).

But I dunno...I just think the series needs those nice gfx personally. It would be fun to have a 16 player Wifi battle, but again....F-Zero is also about alot of competition on screen at once and eye candy at once imo. There's no turtle shells, POWS, or bananas to help you catch that leader. Just speed, boost, and reaction. With only 16 players at once, I honestly think the game would be boring, and bring nothing new to the series besides just that. A limited online experience

Would you rather have Nintendo wait until the next console to enjoy the best of both worlds, or take a sacrifice like MKWii this time around? Would you want a MKWii clone with faster speeds and no weapons? Would you want a beautiful F-Zero game with no online?

These are the reasons imo on why if the game ever comes to the Wii it will only score a 7.5-8 at best, when it could be held onto and made into a 9-9.5 game next time around. But, I'm human, and could be wrong. Could be the best yet!

thoughts?

Gamecube controller support and track editor, then it won't blow.

I couldn't care less about extras, so just like the other F-Zero games:

- Better graphics
- Better gameplay
- More tracks
- More characters

I don't even think of multiplayer when I think of F-Zero. What I'd like to see from an F-Zero game is more speed with some pretty effects.

As far as online options, I'd rather see leader boards, ghosts, and things of that nature over mutliplayer. I think online multiplayer could be fun, it would certainly be much more skill based in comparison to Mario Kart. But, I don't think it's necessary and I'd rather have the resources spent on online multiplayer invested into a track editor and the ability to download other peoples tracks.

The only thing I would be worried about would be if they forced motion controls. It's the kind of game you need alot of precision for and tilting the controller wouldn't be precise enough.

There's been an F-Zero on the SNES, N64, and GC... I'm guessing there will be one for the Wii.

Do I think it will suck?Simplistic Answer: No, because the other ones were good.

This is worrying, I'm not really sure what can happen with this game. I loved F-Zero GX so much, and I just want a new F-Zero with multiplayer online.

I think that was only a rumor or possibly a joke. A really bad joke if you ask me.

He is right, maybe in single player if they really push the hardware, but no chance in splitscreen unfortunately.

I think it all depends on how the game controls. If they use the sideways tilting controller then yeah it might suck. Also if they let Sega do the Music like they Did in GX (not saying the music was bad, it just didn't get you pumped for racing like the N64's F-Zero Music Score did) then it could suck. If they don't bring back the side bump attacks like in the N64 version then maybe. Other than that, this game will rock. I really hope they get the Heavy Metal Musicians back from the N64 version to work on this because that futuristic music score from GX really didn't get my adrenaline flowing. It'll most likely rock anyway though. As long as they keep my Pink Stingray (Which got a name change to Fire Stingray), I'll be happy. If they make it and it has online, you guys better prepare to get left in my dust. Oh, I almost forgot, If they somehow find a way to screw the Online play up like they did for Smash Bros Brawl and like Atari did for DBZ: BT3 then it could suck. But I still think it would rock.

The only current racing game for the Wii with good splitscreen is Mario Kart, which drops to 30 Frames and at max there are probably 20 vehicles on screen. It is possible if they push the hardware but there is no proof in terms of games so I stand by my previous post. If they can do it and keep the framerate solid with great gameplay, I will admit ownage and go play the game :P

The only thing I would be worried about is the controls. Becuase if it uses just the wiimote then there could be some inaccuracy, which you can't have in a title like F-zero.

So hopefully they'll have an analog option too.

How about if you use the DS as a controller and blow into the microphone to make your racer move.

Blow harder!

that would be awesome... could you see the headlines in the news about kids that passed out from playing too much FZero. (yes, I do realize you were focusing on the whole 'blow' part from the thread name) I personally think a F-Zero Wii would be fun, but it would probably play a lot like GX... which isn't a bad thing.
