A thought just occured to me when pondering on how sweet F-Zero Wii could be. It could very well suck as well imo.
Not so much suck as in it scoring below 5, but I could totally see a new installment score in the 6's to 7's when it could possibly be a 9. It's not fair because of the Wii's hardware abilities to score a game so low, but you all know how sites are...
Lets take two things into consideration here. I'll give my thoughts on why it could, and why it couldn't...and lets debate it.
Graphics-
to me, F-Zero is a game about blazing speed, with beautiful enviroments and courses that get better with each installment. We've seen upgrades to each game in the series with each new console which is great. The Wii, obviously better in the hardware department compared to the GC, should be able to produce a very solid, smooth looking game. With the awesome designs of the vehicles, I'm sure the Wii could handle 40+ on screen at once in a single player/split-screen with no drop in frame rate. This brings me to my other point...
Multiplayer (online)-
I'm sure we all love or somewhat like MarioKart Wii because of the new controls, the same old loveable characters, etc. But in order to make that online experience that we all waited soooo long for good...something had to be sacrificed, and that was gfx.
Again, no one should expect PS360 visuals here (I'm not, so please don't jump to conclusions). This is just my personal opinion, and I think the game could go either way. I'm not worried about the controls because I could see it being just like Excite Truck but only with more precision and timing required (maybe even better with M+).
But I dunno...I just think the series needs those nice gfx personally. It would be fun to have a 16 player Wifi battle, but again....F-Zero is also about alot of competition on screen at once and eye candy at once imo. There's no turtle shells, POWS, or bananas to help you catch that leader. Just speed, boost, and reaction. With only 16 players at once, I honestly think the game would be boring, and bring nothing new to the series besides just that. A limited online experience
Would you rather have Nintendo wait until the next console to enjoy the best of both worlds, or take a sacrifice like MKWii this time around? Would you want a MKWii clone with faster speeds and no weapons? Would you want a beautiful F-Zero game with no online?
These are the reasons imo on why if the game ever comes to the Wii it will only score a 7.5-8 at best, when it could be held onto and made into a 9-9.5 game next time around. But, I'm human, and could be wrong. Could be the best yet!
