What about the app store, music playback, improved menu, SD card support, larger screens, improved quality speakers, and buttons that aren't rubbish? You need to consider those if you're picking a DS Lite up over a DSi.
As for your actual question, I highly doubt it. Regular DSi systems are selling like hotcakes and Nintendo still hasn't dropped the price.

i really dont want that...
im not gonna buy something i dont want...
What are these fabled hotcakes, and wherefore do they sell so well?
But no, not for a while, most likely. It would be different if it were a new generation of handheld, but since it's just a reiteration of an existing version, I don't think so.
89$ thats awesome!!!Gamestop has reconditioned ones for $89.00. Not a bad price. I may pick up one myself.

except i am not a suporter of game stop...
they rip too many people of...
I don't understand all the hate for Gamestop - they're a company. They need to make money to survive (like all the other companies). Yeah you'll do better if you buy or sell on e-bay - you cut out the middleman. But it's also possible that you'll pick up a fake game there and it will have lots of problems. At least at Gamestop they take their games back if there's a problem. If you buy a a handheld there and it's defective, they will replace it. Bought most of my games there and never had a problem. They're also good about recommending games.

Thats silly. It has new generation games that can't be played on the last generation platform, via DSiWare and DSi retail
Therefore, its a new generation.
I'm sorry it doesn't satisfy yourdesires for a new generation handheld but nintendo always puts out new handhelds with very minor upgrades, the smallest nessecary technological leaps, so i've come to expect this
And to be on topic for the TC
I remember WalMart sold the DS Lites for $98 on Black Friday this past year...
Look on Craigslist in your region, in Texas I can find a good DS Lite for $50-$80 on there, just depends on your region i suppose

It's a new generation when Nintendo says it is, not when you come up with invalid reasons for why it's next gen. And to answer OPs question, I doubt it will go down...they're still selling decently.

So when Nintendo says, on the DSi only retail game boxes,..."Plays on DSi systems only, Does not play on DS systems" It isn't a new gen? You realise Nintendo makes that box.
Invalid reasons? Lol. New games that only play on new systems and not old system is invalid?
