Will the PS3's drop effect the Wii?

I believe this to be a very true statement. The PS3 is Blue-Ray and can support amazing graphics, plus the games coming out of the PS3 are pretty good. Plus devs will look at the ps3 as the King of systems like the ps2 was just a few years back......your thought's?

I dont see how... there are tons more people that want a wii then there are wiis for sale... sure maybe a handful of them will get a PS3 but there will still be a much much bigger number of people looking for wiis then are for sale.

i dont think it will, two totaly dif markets really, a wii gamer got a wii because of the controll, and promised support, witch is on the way, yes teh ps3 is cool and fancy, and with a price drop now in people like myself's range, i still am not sure if i would buy it cause of the fact that my wii is still fun and any game that is "ground breaking" on ps3 is even more so on pc scince it updates all the time not once every 5 or 6 years, look at crysis, currently i havent seen anything close on ps3, not dissing it, but it is aiming at a market that alot of pple arent a part of, i played it, i love it, still would rather buy a 360

also the whole blue ray thing, what comp[any besides sony will take the time and money to prgram 60 gbs into a game that will potentialy flop, look at ea, does the ps3 version of maden have 60 gbs? no same as 360 and wii, large multi console companies like ea and ubisoft wont take the time to put an extra 40 or 50 gigs into a game just for sony, and there will be games from sony that will do this, but they will be hella pricy like around 90 to 100 bucks, because people need to get paid for the work they do, and sony is making profit from games not sold systems, if they want to stay afloat, a game like mgs4 with all that programing will be like 70 dollars to say the least, unless sony itsely is only using the same 8 gbs that the wii and 360 are, and then they are just being hipocrits

I like everything you said except the "king of systems"... it really just isn't. The 360 thus far has been on the same graphical plane as the PS3, only the PS3 is more annoying to develop on. The 360 is better than PS3 in so many ways its amazing that it is available cheaper.
That being said I also disagree with the comment that "the games coming out of the ps3 are pretty good"... are they really?
Or do they just look really nice?
I'm off to go dream about RE:UC, SMG, and MOHH2

This gen of consoles contains two choices: (PS3 or Xbox) and Wii. The wii is in an element all by itself. For those only getting one system I feel sorry for them as they will miss out, and the price drop might effect the sales a little bit. But nothing dramatic.

really hard to say at this point.... the wii is very popular right now. there are more games on the wii than the ps3, i think. the price drop will not affect the sales of the wii though. more people are also buying the 360 as well. besides, most of the developments are switching to the wii from the ps3, even with the price drop. there is nothing going for the ps3 this year.
