Third parties and the Wii.

So far it has been...

What do you all think?

Me I think they have been stinking up the Wii. Why is this so? Why have they not been able to take full advantage of the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii?

The majority of third party games have been awefull? They seem to be all making ports of PS2 games and tossing in the motion sensing instead of really thinking about it.

Do you think this will basically kill off the Wii.

Whats up with that?

It's terrible right now, but hopefully it will get better.... hopefully. If it doesn't happen soon though, the Wii will lose, just like the GC did.

Thats a sad thought. The Wii is an awesome system.

Just that many see to de dissapointed in lack of HD. Maybe just maybe thats why developers are less enthusiastic wehn developing for it.

I think that may be the problem. Look at that other console with a motion sensing controller. Although it may not be as advanced as the Wii-mote they seem to be having no trouble developing motion sensing games for it?

hmm? Strange eh? Seeing that that system has HD graphics and all.

I dunno...

it's funny if you think about it.....

Last gen Nintendo's problem was Severe Lack of Third Party support.

This gen's Nintendo's problem is Severe Over-Support from Third Partys.

Agreed. I was ever so hoping for Heat Seeker to be good... But it failed me... Now all I have left LoZ TP, SPM, SSX and Excite Truck. I mean I have lots of other games, but they are not really fun.

Kinda, but we can't have Nintendo give us all the games. For the Wii to be a amazing system we need Third Party support....

So, does anyone who owned a DS at launch not have these worries? I remember all these same conversations coming up about the DS, and it was all doom and gloom. Third parties were flooding the market with minigame games that just tried to wow people with the new control scheme. Everyone complained, everyone cast the DS aside as a crappy 3rd rate gimmick of a handheld.

Meanwhile, I was ignoring them and playing great games like Meteos and WarioWare until Mario Kart and Metroid and New Super Mario Bros and Final Fantasy 3 and Brain Age...etc came out. And now everyone recognizes the DS as the king of handhelds, which it most definitely is. The Wii will be no different. I doubt it will win the console war, but the games put out for it will be amazing.

And why does everyone act like the GameCube was some sort of disgrace? Big deal, it didn't push the most units. It didn't tank the company and there were at least 2 dozen awesome games for it, and neither of it's competitors had any more than that. Aside from a lower number of units sold, the Gamecube was equal to PS2 and XBox. Most units sold doesn't always mean best.

let me explain something. again. while the 3rd party publishers are working on original games they are releasing ports to "tide us over". get it? ports are easy to make so they are just giving us them until they are done with the original games.

I agree.... i think companies were unsure as to how the Wii would be received so they waited instead of just blindly investing millions into games for a new concept console.... and since it's been selling like hotcakes, they are now jumping to sink money into this console.  So yeh, you'll have to wait for awhile.

Well, we know Nintendo has great first party software almost always.(But first party sutff alone for a system is not enough is it really--you need some third party stuff in the mix) So while the wait is on, the games coming out from third parties might really change peoples perception of Wii, if they keep churning out well, what their churning out.

Never mind a port if it is a good one. If its a bad one, then you know. If they all keep being bad, well you know. The Wii could get a bad rep. The exact rep we do not want. Motion sensing does nothng for gaming? Or motion sensing is messy and when yo put it in games the result is this.(somthing not good/what devs have been making for Wii?) It doesn't do for gaming what it was hyped up to do?

Which of course is somthing we know IS possible. We know the Wii isn't a gimmick. We know what it IS capable of. Look at Metroid Prime 3. Proof from what was seen that an FPS or an action/adventure like that can be done on the Wii. It can change gaming for the better.

But the more games released now that seem to go against this and simply are "messy" per se, Well its not exactly helping the Wii as a system is it?
