Yes I know about MoonRising but I'm not really interested in the Pokemon knock-offs. WE've been asking for a Pokemon MMO for what? 5-7 years? A Pokemon MMO could give Nintendo the push they need in these times.

No idea, but I'm sure we will someday. Wouldn't that be something, If they're saving it for the NX launch in 2017 or whatever. That would help them push the thing.
@justdutch101: Maybe one day when Nintendo is ready, i dont think Nintendo could handle that though right now. I think if they signed a contract with Activision/Blizzard and had them help in handling it and providing service it could work. MMOs are costly, and if Nintendo struggled with one, it would hurt bad, but its true that if they could find a way to pull it off it could become the greatest and biggest MMO ever. And i mean big, like 40-60 million players big. Just imagine it, running around in a world as a Pokemon trainer along with other trainer, would be most epic thing i could ever imagine.
It's a pretty idea, but there are too many game design reasons why it wouldn't work in the way you think it would.
Yes , they should hand it off to an other game developer. I may be sounding weird right now , but if Blizzard would see potential to do so , oh crap.. It'd be amazing. And it doesn't have to mean the end of the main series. Elder Scrolls Online is not going to get in the way of Elder Scrolls 6 ( I hope). Pokemon Generations was so amazing for what I saw with great battling actually having advantage and be able to use tactics and dodging. JUst Because there is an Pokemon MMO doesn't mean I'll stop buying the main series and I think it's that way for alot of people. It does have to become a way different game than the actual handheld games. If MoonRising goes well it can show how an Pokemon MMO could do so aswell. Hell , if it's on PC they would even lure in alot of non-pokemon fans just because it's one of the most perfect games for an MMO , in my opinion. I can't think of any game that would make a better MMO , and if it were to be made by Jagex , Blizzard or any expierenced company theres a game of the year candidate , without sacrificing the main series , giving Nintendo the boost and I think even some fans back which they really need right now. They've been beaten so hard by hard Microsoft , Sony and by companies on the videogame market (basically ruled by Bethesda , especially when they announce new fallout or elder scrolls games). They need to wow a big audience and I think a good pokemon mmo could do that.
No, it would have to be a definitive Pokemon experience, and they wouldn't be able to release a new two-title generation every 2 years--not to mention the third "improved" version. Pokemon sells like nothing else.
If the NX really is a hybrid handheld/home console platform than it sounds like the perfect platform for it. Like, the platform was almost designed around a pokemon MMO specifically.
Would make sense too. I've always said Nintendo was saving the pokemon MMO as a hail Mary for when they've dug themselves into a really shitty hole and that's basically what they've done with the Wii-U...
I don't see why pokemon fans are against it. I love the traditional games as much as anyone but there's only so much they can add to these games each generation to make them feel fresh, especially within the limits of a handheld device. Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire sucked in my opinion. A step back from X and Y. On their own they are good games, but I mean in terms of a 2015 pokemon game I just feel like there are a lot of things that could be added to make them feel new and not like a prettier version of the game ( ik it's a remake, but still). I don't think I would ever buy Nintendo X, but if a pokemon MMO came out, I think I might just have to. Games with online gameplay generally have much longer lifespans than ones without. Although it's expensive and whatnot, if done right I really don't see how that wouldn't be a hit
