I think Echoes of Time is an excellent game. I saw the vids of new gameplay and online co-op today and it really got me interested. I love the fact that you can team up with a stranger in the world and go on quests together. At first I thought you'd only be able to play wirelessly with friends in you living room but they expanded it to include more people.

It looks really fun and the hands-on people at IGN said it is. I liked Crystal Chronicles for GC and this will really open up the gameplay and connectivity possibilities. The textures have been smoothed for the Wii version so they don't look so low quality and since I don't have a DS I'd love to try this one out. It looks like it has a great story too and only for $39.99. This should keep me Final Fantasy satisfied until Crystal Bearers comes out. Will you guys be getting this one?

We know nothing about the game. There just isn't enough for us to tell if it's even worth getting. A question best asked near release.

How does the multi player work? Are there a few different quests to go on with other people or do you actually go on the same quest as you do in the single player mode?

I am on the fence with this one. like TC said, it may be a good game to tide us over until Crystal Bearers comes out.

I am similar to you on being on the fence. Does the game have local multiplayer on the Wii? Meaning can four people play on the one system? I would hate to have to buy the game for Wii and then some DS versions to play with everyone. It is also important to know how the story progresses over different modes

Actually, that's a great question. I didn't even think about that. Most of the emphasis has been on playing with friends locally or worldwide via DS to Wii Wi-Fi connectivity but they haven't said much regarding whether up to 3 other friends can play with you on the same Wii system. I don't really have any friends to play this with so it doesn't matter to me anyway but I see why that's big for some of you guys.

Well it'd take a lot more work and effort to make 1 game that looks one way on the Wii and another way on the DS. This would create a lot of problems for players worldwide on different platforms. When your friends are playing with you over DS saying meet somewhere which looks one way to you and looks completely different to them then this would cause confusion. I see why they decided to do what they did, it's a good idea. Yeah it would look better but it's not a big deal, it would be the same game. This game is in essence a DS game with an expanded cross-platform audience so that DS and Wii players can play the same game together at home or on the go. A game like this hasn't been done before so I like the concept. It won't be perfect but the concept is there.

DOn't put so much emphasis on graphics. While it is true that great graphics can really add to a game, don't judge a game completely on graphics. Anyways, I wouldn't call it lazy that the Wii has cleaned up DS graphics; I think this was kind of an experiment to see how the Wii/DS integration works. I bet in teh future we'll see games with better Wii graphics. But remember, this is the first time anyone has really tried this as far as I know so give it a chance. At least it's only gonna be $39.99 instead of a full price Wii game.

Both versions are only $39.99 compensating for the fact that it's not up to the graphical standard for the Wii. Even if it's just a DS emulator, the emulation and smoothing works well. The visuals are DS-like but without the low-quality of the graphics. What Wii owners are paying for is a DS-ish game, online missions, up to 4 player co-op, Crystal Bearers trailer and a new Crystal Chronicles story which looks a million times deeper than the GC one. I like this game because it's giving me, a non-DS owner, the chance to play a DS game on my Wii and experience some extras.

i'm a crystal chronicles fan, but a multiplayer-exclusive game doesnt work for me, someone without online and without friends that own DSs/wiis

I know literally nothing about this game. I could do some research and maybe get hyped, but I'd rather wait for some reviews. That way, I'll either be pleasantly surprised or not dissappointed if it turns out to be bad. When does the game come out anyway?

Maybe. It's cool that it has cross-platform online connectivity. So a wii owner can play the game with the DS owner of the game. I'll wait for reviews though. Graphics look really ugly though.

Heh, 4 player split screen on Wii=8 screens :P That'd be awful. :D

I'm not sure yet ... I love the wireless connectivity but I hope that it's really in depth. The Crystal Bearers is looking great though. :)
