I'll be getting it. I've played the japanese version and pretty much loved it. There were a few things that were kind of annoying, like the camera, but no biggies. The game is nothing like the original FFCC on the GC, btw. This is a storydriven Crystal Chronicles.
[QUOTE="X-Remnant"]If you don't like what you see, how can a review change that? A high review score doesn't mean you will like it. maybe the review covers some stuff that for some reason haven't been mentioned on the previews. for example, "is there a way to fight besides throwing stuff around?" is a common question. i love the throw thing, so i'll get it anyway, but some people think it's (apparently, another chance for a review to change people's minds) too shallow, and if that's it, then the game's not worth buying.Maybe if it gets some epic reviews... I haven't liked what I've seen from it so far.

With games what you see is usually what you get, I doubt they are hiding some big gameplay aspect to spring on players in the final product. The telekenesis is the backbone of the game, thats not going to change; halfway through the game its not going to become a hack n slash. I always found people's reliance on reviews to be strange, they are hyped for a game, it gets a bad or mediocre review and they suddenly hate every apsect of the game. There have been some lowly rated games that I enjoyed, ones that come directly to mind is Kirby's Air Ride and Red Steel. There are highly rated ones that i think are terrible, GTA IV being a prime example. Sepewrathi didn't mean "hiding", more like "just didn't mention". like "is it just random waggling or is there some depth in the throwing around mechanics?" BTW kirby air ride is awesome :P
well, it does look really good, but i don't wanna pay another 50 bucks for a game i'll play for 9 hours and then never touch again. I'll wait for reviews and see how much replay value it has or how much gameplay time is in it. If its at least as good as galaxy then I'll get it.

What difference does it make to you if I'd give a game a chance because other people liked it? :?

Yes it is, me and my friend poured so many hours into that game. And from the 1up game night they said it was directional throwing, some enemies required you stun them or whatever and then you can use them as a projectile and such. And like I said before in another topic, we've seen videos of him like making a drill and what may have been an escort mission, or maybe it was enemy, but he was carrying something for a longer period of time. We seen him use himself as a projectile, you know latch on to giant enemies and pull himself to them and so on. You can already see where the combat is going from the video's all over the place.
^It doesn't but I'm just giving you a heads up, if the game doesn't look like much to you, chances are your not going to like it. If you like throwing away money knock yourself out.

i'm just trying to rationalize a reaction, i'm not taking sides. person X (which coincidentally has an username "X" :P) decides that will read reviews instead of pondering if the game's worth a shot or not based on previews. i just tried to explain why person X would do such a thing, not necessarily in this specific case, not necessarily applicable on this case.back to crystal bearers, the combat looks extremely fun and not-shallow to me. sure, it's a final fantasy without huge blades (and in some way, no weird spiky hair), but making the combat look fun and epic (just see a boss) with a character using just it's bare hands and one single spell (poor kid swallowed a whole gravity magicite when he was a baby) and no swords means a lot. means they decided to change. and change for something good. (not that "regular" final fantasy games are bad, on the contrary...)
what was the last JRPG you played without a swordsman as a main character?

and seen how awesome it is, im 200% sure i will get it.

ok, excluding pokemon, because it's waaay too different :P
Again. Day one. No question.
Hmph! 2 fantastic looking Wii games coming in December and there are actually people who "might" or "won't" pick them up?? I completely understand those that simply don't have the money, but whats everyone elses excuse? Granted I can't say if either one is good or bad yet, but these certainly look to be the types of quality titles Wii owners have been begging for. They should be purchased simply based on principle.
FF:CC:CB looks to be a lengthy, Zelda-esque adventure game. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a return to the roots of, and represents in its purest form, true survival horror. Both games look to use the Wii remotes functionalities in unique ways. So what gives? Quality, "hardcore" games finally come to Wii and actually utilize the systems motion controls in ways that don't seem contrived or convoluted, but serve to immerse the player even deeper into the game world, and theres actually people that DON'T want them?
Help me out here as i'm a little confused. Aren't these the types of Wii games people have been clamoring for??!! :?
[QUOTE="gamefan67"]I'm still not sold on the game yet; I will wait for some user reviews.BrunoBRSjust curious... why just user reviews? are they more trustworthy than the pros? Well it depends on whose user review I'm reading. There are a couple users here whose opinion I trust. And I'm pretty sure the "pro" reviews for this game will be anything but stellar (judging from the scores Famitsu gave this game).
This type of response will get you flamed pretty fast:wink:Again. Day one. No question.

If you don't like what you see, how can a review change that? A high review score doesn't mean you will like it. Reviews tend to go in depth esp. if its a good review. I take it your the type of person that does not listen to reviews at all. Well some people do consider them important when they are well thought, in depth, unbiased reviews they can be very useful. They showcase the postivies and explain the negatives.Probably eventually if the reviews don't suck, too bad about the release date though, I could've got it for Christmas.

Unless it's unanimously hated by the critics and sites I trust, then it's a day one purchase for me.
