Will You Boycott Resident Evil 0?

Now that Capcom has reduced itself to milking Wii customers I'm wondering how many are actually going to go along with it?

For the people excited about the game it's already playable on the Wii, it's a last gen game released on the Gamecube. The Gamecube has 100% backwards capability.

100% I!! I dont see the point in replaying a game just because it has differant controls. I'm getting sick of Capcom i might just boycot the series altogether from now onwards.

I will only purchase a NEW Resident Evil Game. NOT a remake or port.

well I never bought it for gamecube but aiming with the wii remote is more fun then an analog stick, but in all honesty I would have to rent it 1st to make a fair decision on whether or not to buy itbigdaddy9202

Even if you'd rather have a wii version of re0 more than the gamecube version wouldn't you much rather have an entirely original resident evil game for the wii? If Capcom decided to make resident evil 5 for the wii, I and (oh so)many wii owners would be nothing short of thrilled. Not to mention resint evil 4 made an excellent wii game...I just don't get it :(

This is how the Wii market works now. People are going to buy it over there and here. But the question is would you? The answer is no because you already played the game. For anyone asking if it's any different the answers no it's the same as the GC version. If your looking for a RE4 copy cat youl have to get RE5.

True, if you've never played the game and want to, buy the GC version since, well, that's the only version we're getting. But no, lets create a thread surrounding a scenario that is pointless to even discuss simply for the fact that we won't even have a chance of buying it for the Wii.

Another point I'd like to mention....How are we being milked if that person that buys the Wii version never played the original? Perhaps it's easier to find or even play the Wii version. The game's 5 years old, it can't be that easy to find.

I just don't see the logic in what you're trying to convince us of. If they can give us a quality port that adds to the original, great, if not, people aren't going to buy it.

And one more why boycott? This is capcom. They ported or remade all the resident evils to gamecube and I don't think a lot of people complained. And Street fighter II keeps being remade or ported to consoles. And megaman. If you have figured it out by now capcom likes to remake games even if it was on system before. WllDan7

The difference between the RE4 port and the RE0 is that RE0 has nothing new done to it. RE4+new controls+add ons from ps2 version. RE0 same graphics with nothing changed at all other than controls.(no aiming with the Wii remote)

Ok, I REALLY didn't know I had to add the "if it was released in all regions" I thought it was pretty obvious about the direction I'm going here. Not too many twists and turns in this plot lol See the direction I lay out and go forth.

Should we boycott RE4? No because it was early in the Wii's lifespan and Capcom wanted to do SOMETHING so they took one of their top titles that won game of the year and ported it over to the Wii and things worked out well. They also sweetened the pot by adding content that was impossible to get for a Nintendo-centric user. Content that was easy to upgrade because they had all the pieces

They managed to give a solid effort early that had content we never experienced.

This game isn't a port, it's the same freaking game being reworked and remade. If it WAS a port I'd be fine with it, port over whatever you want because ports are better then remakes.

Capcom has had enough time with the Wii, they don't have to serve rehash after rehash of the same titles.

They're refusing to bring new experiences on the Wii. Bring another Umbrella Chronicles, bring anything that's new instead of this reheated tripe.

If it's a good game I will buy it because I've never played it before, if not I won't, but that's my personal decision. Isn't this game only coming out in Japan anyway?Zombie_Eric

Okay, I'll be honest, I really can care less about the game. I doubt I'd buy it if they re-worked the entire game. I just don't understand the complaining.

Nowhere, that I've seen, have they claimed the game of being an exact copy of the GC version. They've mentioned it'll have new controls taking adavntage of the Wii and not much else. There seem to be a lot of assumptions going on here.

If it had great new controls, 16:9 support, higher resolution graphics, and at a $20 price point, why not? Especially for those that never played it.

They offered up a quick port that also gave Nintendo users a new experience.

It's now over a year later, they've had a hand in quality titles made from the ground up. There is no need for a rehash at this point.

thats a tough one to call. i've posted before that unless its budget priced, the game would not be worth buying. Now, if the game was remade to be like RE4, thats a different story, but seeing as its a full blown port, its hard to make an honest decision. One one hand, it has Wii controls; on the other hand, it looks to emulate that accursed camera angle that drove me away form the other Resident Evil's until RE4. But honestly, Capcom should be working on making Zak And Wiki more well known than working on the same game over and over (honestly, there's like 50 different versions of Resident Evil 1 already, we don't need more).

I think, more importantly than Capcom, I want to start boycotting Electronic Arts if they steal Take 2. These damn monopolies make my board game of the same name say "Wow, you guys are evil".
