[QUOTE="nini200"][QUOTE="superbuuman"] If they had been following the news they were dumb for not waiting, seriously as soon as PS4 was announce at $399USD it was plain obvious Nintendo would be dropping its price for the Wii U (at least in US - bigger market & all). No matter what anyone from Nintendo says about no price drop. :p

Jaysonguy

I mean the people that bought the basic model at launch

Those people?

Look at all the games they got to enjoy in the last year!

I mean Nintendo has been pumping out game after game, GOD it's like every two weeks since launch there's been a high level retail release.

Then they have all the virtual console games that have been released on the Wii U that take advantage of the Wii U gamepad!

What's best is that once this console is released and they want to own another for maybe the bedroom Nintendo's worked feverishly on allowing users to move their user accounts back and forth between machines!

finally

??? that's long time ago, within a month I'd agree with you..after so long...nope. As with anything you buy at launch its the risk...sure they can be nice & offer something..but you're aren't entitled to/owed it. :P

That's absolutely not what I said

Early adopters got promises from Nintendo that the console would have games, TONS of games. Working with third party teams and indie devs and then their own stable.

Nintendo failed with the Wii U though and had no games. Their incompetence made big publishers make console specific games multiplats and made other big publishers leave the console altogether. They chased away indie devs with ridiculous stipulations or lack of support, and they failed to bring their own software around in a timely fashion.

Their online infastructure is still broken, they went the longest time ever with no games for the console, and most of their games they're saying wont be here until 2014 or later.

There was no benefit at all of being an early adopter because everything that Nintendo said was coming never did.

This is my exact point.

This is looking really tempting... I've never played Wind Waker before. I wonder how long they'll keep this bundle around for.

All right. That's all true. I'm just not sure what any of that has to do with being entitled to having software available on the system. Anyone who bought it could have researched the lineup beforehand. They knew how dry it was, and they knew there was no guarantee that it would get any better.

Research had nothing to do with it

Nintendo said third party devs, they left

Nintendo said indie games, they left

Nintendo said just regular *#*(@# games, they never came

Nintendo was the one that said the console would be full with games to play, they were working feverishly to get as many games as possible. Remember during all their press conferences they'd have that entire wall of companies and dev teams that were working on the Wii U? That never turned into anything.

This isn't a case of people buying into a system misinformed, it's a case of Nintendo promising things that they failed to do. Nintnedo actually failed to follow through on every single promise they made.

Nintendo thinks that an "I'm sorry" is good enough and for Nintendo fans it is because honestly I have no idea why they tolerate it. For everyone else WITH standards these are the kinds of things that make people not support a company in the future.

Are you saying I should feel sorry for people who fell for PR stunts? Or that I should condemn Nintendo for talking up their own product? Of course they said it would have 3rd party support. They're hardly going to say "Our upcoming system might not have very many games" are they? Anyone who takes an international corporation's press releases at face value without checking the validity is a bad consumer. Again, they could have researched the line up and found out exactly how many games (or how few) were sleighted for release. A corporation's words don't mean anything, especially concerning things so obviously vague and untenable as 'Our system will have lots of games.' Every other video game company does the exact same thing. Should we all go grab our torches and pitch forks every time a developer promises their game will be good, and it turns out to be shit?

Not bad though i played Zelda WW already on GC AND on 1080p on my pc as well. I dont think this game is a reason for me to spend 300$. Ill wait the next-gen Zelda to consider buy a Wii U though if its the only interesting game i will rent it and avoid a purchase. I dont want to end up with a dead product again like Wii nor pay so much $$ just for 3-4 games in total.

The thing is you're a Nintendo fan you think the entire industry runs like this, that everything runs like this, I can't really explain that it's not because you just know how Nintendo works.

Indie games left Wii U? Say wha?? No regular games on Wii U? I don't think I follow. You're all about the hyperbole, aren't you?

Jaysonguy
No. This is literally how every industry in the world works. It's called PR (otherwise known as BS) Corporations always hype up their products, regardless of the quality of said products.
you just know how Nintendo worksJaysonguy
Well now you're just being an asshole. I've followed the industry long enough, and owned enough different systems and games to recognize PR bullshit when I see it. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't.
