Out of the choices in the poll, Twilight Princess, only because OOT, MM, and WW were so freaking awesome!:) The worst 3-D Zelda ever though is PH.

TP gets the most hate because it is the newest. In reality had great Wii controls, a long and dark story, a large world to explore, and beautiful graphics. Imo, as time goes by it will be remembered as a great 3d Zelda that is just behind OoT. Speaking of OoT, who could possibily say that is the worst?
My worst is WW. While it was a beautiful looking game with an interesting story, it lacked the dark ominuous feel I prefer in my Zelda games. Also, Epona>Red Lions.

While I normally wouldn't disagree publicly with someone in such an opinion oriented topic, since you are making a general statement about it being remembered better as time goes by I'll disagree with that.
Do you remember when TP came out and got the score it got here and everyone freaked out? I can promise you that that will be remembered as the hight of TP's greatness. In fact, as time has gone by more and more people have come to accept and notice its flaws. That is the exact oposite of what happened with say Wind Waker, where so many people were upset with the choice of cell-shading at the beginging it was all you heard about, and as that died down more and more people came to appreciate it for its gameplay, story, and even its graphics.
And as for the specifics of your post, the controls weren't great and set the standard for waggle, the world was large but exploring was meaningless since it was empty and lifeless, and the story imo was lacking. It made Midna the main character rather than Link. Thus, TP got my vote for worst 3d zelda.

Once again, I would've agreed with you a week ago. But I downloaded Ocarina on the VC, and I've been playing that nonstop.Obviously I'd played it before. Probably beat it four times. At the same time I started playing TP again (I beat it some time ago, I'm just going through and getting golden bugs, heart pieces etc.) and I must say, TP comes out on top. Playing them both at the same time has really made me appreciate TP. I always thought that TP's Hyrule was big and empty with nothing to explore just like you. But now that I'm actually, you know, exploring it, I'm really blown away at just how complex it's Hyrule is. I'm still finding new little nooks and crannies to explore, new caves and puzzles to solve--there's not as much to explore as Wind Waker, but TP makes it much more enjoyable.
I also think the story is much more gripping, and better told than other Zelda games. Wind Waker still has my favorite story, but I think TP tells it's story in a very cinematic way, and it's very well written. My only complaint is that being a wolf isn't all that fun (although it is pretty cool), and some of the more interesting characters aren't developed properly, and we didn't get to know them very well. But over-all, I think TP is waaay under-rated.
[QUOTE="Blue-N-Yellow"]I`m actually surprise how many ppl do not like TP.. I knew it was not a fav fan.. but wow  :PTwilight Princess, but only because it was less amazing than the other 3 (but still a great game)
The votes against Majora's Mask don't surprise me but honestly, I consider MM to be on par with OoT.
chang_1910
That's because Twilight Princess is a very underrated game. I loved it more than WW and MM.
My vote is somewhat incomplete, since I haven't finished Majora's Mask (blasted Collector's Edition version that keeps freezing at random spots), but based on what I've played, I'll also have to go with Twilight Princess being at the bottom. Don't get me wrong, though. By typical gaming standards, it's a solid game. However, when I put it up against all of the other Zelda games and what they did, TP doesn't stand out. Honestly, there isn't much that the game doesn't that wasn't done with the other three games, and in a lot of ways, they did those things better. I still believe that the game was a victim of trying to be this epic, OoT-like game, it wasn't what it could have been.
When I think about TP, there isn't that one memorable moment that stands out to me like in OoT, MM, and WW. None of the characters, story, or areas really grab me in TP like the other Zeldas. To top it off, the actual layout of the game didn't blow me away, either. For as large as Hyrule was, it never felt like there was a lot to do, outside of going from part of the main quest to another (especially late in the game, when it felt like a dungeon quest). I actually look forward to the points where I can take a break from saving the world inside a game, and I didn't find much of that.
Once again, these are my two cents. :P

I have to agree with you. I've only played each one of them once, and haven't done as much exploring as I could have with TP, the way I see both of them now is: OOT: The best for its time, and most original 3D game (again, out of the ones I've finished, but based on what I've seen, MM was more original). It did an amazing job of translating the 2D games to 3D, and again, was the best for its time. TP: Probably the least original 3D game of the series, and felt like OOT plus. But I really do mean "plus" because it had a lot more going for it, in terms of stuff to do on the side, the exploration (from what I've seen of it), the story, and overall presentation, all of that combined to what is, in my mind the best overall 3D Zelda experience, without taking originality or how much it stands out for its time. I also agree about the controls. Yes, it had waggle, all sorts of it. But it is probably the second best control scheme for a Wii game that I've seen, after SMG. It did the best that it could for the series the way that it was.The treasure chart collecting in Wind Waker really pissed me off...dmil1991This. It's pretty much the sole reason why it's my least favorite 3d zelda. That being said it's still great.
I did. What can i say? i had to choose between 4 games that deserve a 10.How can someone vote for OoT? I don't get it.

I've already posted in many topics on this subject, so all I'll add that contributive is;
MM is my favorite.
I think the series has went down hill ever since besides PH.

yeeeah. I seem to remember a time when wind waker was the whipping boy of the franchise. And not just for it's art direction. To few, easy dungeons, too much sailing, that triforce fetch quest. But apparently "fans" forgot all about that when they started to jump on the TP hate bandwagon :roll:I'm willing to bet that the same thing will happen once the next wii exclusive zelda comes out.
I didn't like Twilight Princess much. I can't really describe why, but I just felt that something there was lacking. Also, I found the wolf/Link switching annoying, but that's just me.
I played OoT and Majora's Mask to DEATH. Loved both of those games. Wind Waker seems to catch alot of flak from fans but I enjoyed it quite a bit as well (yes, even the sailing). It was kind of annoying at first, but after being at work for most of the day it started being relaxing, as weird as that sounds. If you think from the beginning that it's going to be a lighthearted game, it makes the experience much better.
i know one thing oot is not gonna win this honor lol. i would say phantom hourglass even though its not a choice. i didnt like the controls why not let me control link with the d pad. i like the using touch screen to use specific items but nothing is great all touch screen. well any game with this much to do needs dpad controls
or at least the option

Well, that's right. But my vote goes to WW, didn't enjoyed it at all and in my opinion, cell-shaded isn't a good option for console Zelda games.
[QUOTE="TwilightSoilder"]Majora's Mask, imo. The game had a lot going for it but the 3 day time limit really annoyed me. JebranRushThen just play the Song of Time backwards. Slows the time limit to a crawl, letting you run around without much worry for the time. Actually, I always used that song before I did anything. Even then I cut it close of couple times. :P When I'm playing Zelda I always like to take the time to smell the roses but I always felt in a rush in MM. Just the thought of being under a clock puts unwanted pressure under me. Although, I will admit, MM had more memorable moments than other any single Zelda game....
To me, Twilight Princess hands down. That game was just not great, can't even bring myself to finish it.
To those that voted TP: why? It may have been the farthest thing from innovative, but it pretty much perfected the formula OOT established. For it's time it isn't nearly as good, but when we measure these four games by the same standard we will find that TP isn't nearly as bad as you say.Head_of_games
IMO i tries way too hard to imitate OoT instead of being it's own Zelda game like the previous 3D console games were.
It failed to be as compelling (especially story-wise) and the graphics weren't anything special. Atleast WW had a very artistic graphical style.
IMO TP was not a memorable experience and i could live without it

But we aren't talking about how memorable the games are or how similar they are. We're talking about if we took four random gamers who had never played Zelda, put each in front of a different game, which would have more fun? OOT is considered so great because when we all played it way back when it was breathtakingly new. I'm willing to bet that the same thing will happen once the next wii exclusive zelda comes out.
WW was just an example, so lets also look at MM. When it first came out, it also got a lot of hate, but as time went on more and more people began to appreciate it. But this didn't change because WW came out and then people could only be angry at one game at a time. Just like WW didn't suddenly become great once TP came out, people have been talking about both of those games greatness for much longer than that.
But with TP it is the exact oposite: tons of praise at the begining with more and more people coming to place it at the bottom of their lists. It's been more than 2 years since that game came out and it just doesn't seem to be winning as many converts as it's losing, and if it is, it is mainly by picking up 1st time Zelda players.
And I'd be more than willing to take you up on that bet if it wasn't going to take so long to see through.
Yeah, I suppose that I didn't really care much for the story. But since when has Nintendo been about story? At least they tried with TP, even if the parts with Sheik in OOT were simply more epic.Head_of_games
Oot's story was epic, MM's story was epic, WW story was what redeemed the game for me when i wasn't yet welcoming the art style, and the SNES Zelda (a link to the past i think) had a great story.
Zelda games usually have great storys but TP's story lacked epic-ness (i really hate using that word xD) and it made it hard to finish the game.
Also the music was utter crap compared to the previous games, and they got lazy and used music from OoT and MM for some of the wolf songs. The sidequests were very unrewarding
All IMO ofcourse, but as a big Zelda fan i was sorely dissapointed by this game
