Worst Case Scenario--Nintendo

Having advertised 3 games, as their so called BIG 3, it would be quite foolish if atleast one out of the three games did not contain online activity.

Nintendo will ultimately disappoint fans if for some reason they cannot manage an online multiplayer for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Some people feel online is not needed when you can play with friends in the neighborhood. but that only goes for so long. What if you live in the middle of nowhere? What if your friends suck at the game? What if they are gone? Online to this game would add lots of replay value, and adding in a ranking system would make it flawless. Everything in the game already looks good, they just need the online mode. They have mentioned it but they have mentioned it also with Metroid Prime 3, and look where that went. Also being able to communicate via headset would be great too.

What Nintendo Has Got Going For It So Far:

Wii Sports

Legend of Zelda TP

Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition

Super Paper Mario

Super Mario Strikers Charged

Warioware: Smooth Moves

and Metroid Prime 3 When released

It isn't really a SSBB only topic. He is talking about the big three and how bad it will be if one of the won't be online. I think he can post it without using the sticky.

If everything in Brawl comes out as good as I think it will and there's an online ranking mode and a headset and/or webcam, the game will be nothing but flawless... I think.Sants412

I agree, anything else besides that would be a huge mistake on nintendo's part. On the flip side if SSBB does have online then it will push the hardware sales even more. Lets wait and see.

Mp3 has online they have this weird thing where you collect points and stuff and you can trade them to your wii friends but i guess that doesnt count as real online.WiiBaller

I don't care about online that much. Sure it's fine to have... But either I have friends over or I'll read a book.

Even though that, I would like Brawl to have online.

Evidence FOR Brawl online:
1: It was first announced at E3 during a press conference about the Wii's online capabilities.

2: In every interview where Sakurai has been asked if the game will be online he has said "We think it would be hard to have 4 player online, but we will be trying to include online in original ways" (Paraphrased, I can't be bothered walking all the way up stairs and finding my ONM magazine :l)

3: It would be stupid to not be online.

4: Jesus told me in a dream it would be.

Evidence AGAINST it being online.

1: Reggie said it hadn't been announced.

There is more evidence for than against.

And Nintendo has BWII, Mario Kart and a couple of other games coming. But I still wonder, what'll we get after the big 3?

There has only been one 3d mario on each console, so count that out. MP3 is the last Prime game. No more of those and there has only been one Smash Bros game on each console. Not to mention Sakurai said he isn't planning to develop the next one (Although he did say that about Brawl to start with aswell. I don't think he can stop himself :P)
