Although I haven't played it, Wii Music looks like the worst to me. It's looks sort've okay for drums, and then that's it. Everything I've seen for the game makes it seem like a joke :S

What are your opinions on the worst Wii game of the year?

Past the unplayable broken shovelware options?

For me it's a three way tie between Super Smash Bros, No More Heroes, and Okami

I'll think about it and narrow the list

It's just an opinion topic :)

We hear a lot about the best games of the year, but players also have opinions on which games just downright suck too lol.

If there were a "Worse Game Ever," award for Wii games, it would be a 300-way tie (just a made up number, but you get the idea. The Wii is a shovel ware magnet *sigh)

What?!?! I can see why a lot people think you're crazy. Both Brawl and Okami are great games! Albiet Okami is a remake, but it still won game of the year when it was originaly released. No more heroes is more questionable, but how can call Brawl and Okami bad games?

People think I'm crazy because I have geo political discussion with peanut butter sandwiches, it has nothing to do with games:P

Smash Bros was a very poor title considering it's lineage

Okami's art style and controls were compromised to make it play on next gen hardware, something that should have never been allowed.

No More Heroes is just....a mess. As Jordan said earlier this week "I like my games to be fun". I agree with Jordan

How was Brawl poor considerign it's lineage? It only added two less characters than melee and a ton more game modes. It was an increadible game. I think the reason a lot of people didn't like brawl is because of the unbelievable hype it recieved. It could never have lived up to the expectations most people had. Okamis contros where actualy improved because of the IR pointer, and the dodge move isn't a major thing. I admit the lessened paper filter is disapointing, but it's by no means a deal braker. Both of these games are awesome and should't even be considered for worst game of the year IMO. No more heroes, like i said, is questionable. But i wouldn't call it aweful.

brawl met 0 expectations. no skill required to unlock everything. is there a goal thats too hard for you to complete on your own? oh, use a hammer! wanna unlock all the characters easily? oh just beat the "story" mode! that game was a wrecking ball of de-evolution. melee reigns supreme.

I wouldn't know where to begin, too much shovelware to sift through.

Although, I guess my opinion won't matter because I like horrible games such as Brawl, Wii Music and Wii Fit. Oh well, as long as I'm having fun, then I don't really care if a game is horrible.

Wow there are a lot of Brawl haters :(:( At least it is almost the best graphics on Wii and imo the best sound track available on Wii I mean there's so much more but.... Oh! Yes! Another fine example here on how just like the Wii itself, many of the great things and qualities are being cast aside, shoved in a corner. It's sad, real sad.

It happens. But like I said, as long as I'm having fun with the game, then that's all that matters.

It's like Kirby Air Ride, got a low rating on GS and I don't know many people who would find it fun, but I love that game to death! It's just a matter of entertainment, that's all.

Yeah I agree completely, but I still don't understand...oh that's why its because they're casting aside the shovelware. Even then though there's got to be at least one Wii title that didn't fall in shovelware that were worse than Brawl.

Ironic Jaysonguy said "Past the broken, unplayable shovelware" and then mentions Okami when he stated numerous times before that Okami itself was broken and is shovelware.

Yeah and then someone pointed out that Sakurai removed the fur from Fox and then someone posted that giant bee and the whatchamallcallit creature with spikes on its head and they had fur. Not really fair to compare graphics like that for they had different styles to them.

IMO the game STARTS after you have everything, so the sooner that happens the better! You're supposed to be playing Brawl with your friends, not sitting alone trying to "beat" it. Oh, and why the lack of counter-arguments for my Okami comments?

You can't consider a game for worst of the year just because you personally didn't like what it was all about! The entire point of Brawl is to play for hours upon hours with your freinds. It is a primarily multiplayer experience. Seriously, i barely noticed any change in speed between the two games and have matches on Brawl that are just as mad as the ones i had in melee.

Excluding games that no one really knows about, I'd say Wii music. It simply isn't a game, and I don't know why Nintendo thought this should be thier big christmas title

.. the change is VERY noticeable... the game just isnt fun. the whole point of GOTY is seeing what EVERYONE likes, not a "love it or hate it" game.

The only notice in change that I know of is that stupid wavedashing trick and L-cancelling, two very fast paced moves/GLITCHES, are removed and it could feel like the game is feeling a bit slower I suppose. Not everyone I'm sure but there are some people that preferred Melee>Brawl solely because of these glitches.

If it's the worst game, I probably didn't play it. It'd be much more interesting to say the worst game that most people played, in which I'd agree with Wii Music.

Well, the worst Wii game i've played this year is Alone in the Dark. Simply terrible.

Wii Music is FAR from the worst Wii game of the year. In fact, Wii Music was a really good game -- even if it didn't interest me personally, its fun and a pick up and play thing. Any of the ubisoft "Z" line games, those are the worst, with the exception of that one game that scored well on IGN.

I strongly dislike Smash Bros because of how shallow it is, and always has been. Brawl all the way for Worst of '08.

Past the unplayable broken shovelware options?

For me it's a three way tie between Super Smash Bros, No More Heroes, and Okami

I'll think about it and narrow the list

Okami. Have you ever played the game? Don`t think so. No More Heroes. Can`t say about the US version, but I have the european one and it`s a good game. I think what blew it up was all that pointless blood in the american version. About SSBB... I don`t care.

Yikes... A lot of Brawl haters here... The game is just plain fun, and i have put like 100 hours into it and its still fun. I dont understand wh people say its broken when it actually fixed glitches... Great Graphics, Best soundtrack in a videogame, and the most fun on wii for me.

Of course I played Okami, that's how I know that it's a bad game

The visuals are bad, the controls are bad, it was just Capcom's way of getting back some dough from a title that failed last gen.

I played both versions and I admit that the PS2 controls were better, but the wii controls weren't bad at all. And the visuals were still great. What did Capcom ever do to you?

[QUOTE="garrett_duffman"][QUOTE="Head_of_games"][QUOTE="garrett_duffman"] ive never played okami, as i sad before. and playing multiplayer is only fun for so long... like... about 15 minutes. the slower pace of the game makes it so lacking in the gameplay area i cant stand it. i like the "fast and crazy ballistics" style of melee much more. there is nothing about brawl that appeals to me at all. it is one of the, if not THE biggest disappointment of the wii's life

You can't consider a game for worst of the year just because you personally didn't like what it was all about! The entire point of Brawl is to play for hours upon hours with your freinds. It is a primarily multiplayer experience. Seriously, i barely noticed any change in speed between the two games and have matches on Brawl that are just as mad as the ones i had in melee.

.. the change is VERY noticeable... the game just isnt fun. the whole point of GOTY is seeing what EVERYONE likes, not a "love it or hate it" game.

But that's what i'm saying, Brawl isn't a love it or hate it idea. I'm completely confident that the vast majority loves the game. It's not worse than melee in any technical sense. There is more of absolutely everything, so how can it not be as good? I admit it did take a little bit of practice to get used to the game after melee, but It's not worse. It's just different. I find I can have much more hectic battles in Brawl than in Melee. The only good reason i can see for people not liking brawl is either because they don't like what it's about or it didn't match up to their expectations.

There are tons of half baked shovelware games out there. Most most disappointing games though would have to be Wii Music & N More Heroes by a long shot!

What's with all the hate for SSBB? It's a great game, has awesome control, loads of replay, great music, great graphics (any game that can look that good with so much going on at once and stay locked at 60fps is incredible). I hate it when people get ignorant about a good game..... kinda like what happened with Zelda TP. There's a reason this is one of the best selling Wii games out there!

Out of all the Wii games I played this year, the one I enjoyed the least was Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon.

It's a shame, too, because I really wanted to like it.

I thought Emergency Mayhem was the worst thing on the Wii you could see.

It's not a great game, it's an average game.

The gameplay itself is dumbed down. Now that was going to combat the spammers but as I pointed out many times, button mashers ALWAYS have a character you can spam with. So the gameplay is weaker compared to other versions AND there's still spammers.

Nintendo went out of their way to make a lose/lose scenario there.

The story mode is one of the worst story modes we've seen this generation. Horribly disjointed and truly a chore to play through.

Online is improved by leaps and bounds from how it was at lunch but it's still broken and most users still feel the bite of broken in every single session they play.

The character list has been watered down with the additions of characters that serve no purpose. The idea of the game is that it caters to the core Nintendo player. Sonic and Snake just look like a desperate plea to buy the game even if it's not as good as previous versions. Too much of a cheap tactic rather then a solid addition.

The game's saving grace is the jukebox. That is the best part of the game having all of the Nintendo music on one disk.

For what the game promised it didn't even come close to fulfilling.

You just said that it was bad. Please make up your mind on opinions.
