I really liked the seasons/ages games.

Zelda 2 is my least favorite but all in all I have never played a zelda i did not like.

I think the most under rated one is fourswords. My wife and I played through it in about a week and loved it! its only downfall was not being online, and the fact you had to have a bunch of gameboys.

Loved them all, but I haven't playyed 4 sowrds or minish cap. I'd say my least favorite was MM. Just the story was out of place for me and it didn't seem like a true zelda to me. I really liked the mask aspect of it though.

I don't understand what people have against Zelda II, I 'm honest the first time I played was 3 years ago and I found it really interesting. It's true that in many ways it's different from the other games of the franchise but personally, it has more depth than the beloved classic Zelda (NES). In fact, it provides certain RPG component that in "A Link to the Past" and the rest of succesor is fully exploited.

Now answering the question, I could say that for me there is not a bad Zelda game. Maybe, because is one of my favorite nintendo sagas and they always bring that unique Zelda's feeling.

wind waker, four swords, and twilight princess were all equally horrible, in my opinion.

and zelda II was pretty bad as well but i wouldnt say it was completely horrible but was the worste out of the original zelda games before it came to 3d.

I love how some of you think you're so cool by saying Twilight Princess is the worst Zelda game. That's just completely asinine.

Zelda II is easily my least favorite Zelda game, followed by the original, then Majora's Mask. Those are the only 3 in the series that I really don't like to play.

ROFL... reminds me of Talladega Nights... "What should I do with my hands?" "just put them down to your sides"... and yet he slowly raises them again... all of the characters wouldn't stop moving... tweakers!

Why would I feel "cool" saying TP is the worst Zelda game? I was hyped for that game for 2 1/2 years before it even came out. I was expecting something epic, something revolutionary. Instead all I got was TP... and for me, at least, it was a real disappointment.

Really the disappointment that I got from TP made me hate it. Sure I could play the Zelda's I've never played before, like Zelda 2 and 4 swords, but they wouldn't be near as bad, as I wasn't hyping them up for any period of time. They'd just be a bad zelda game, that's all, nothing more, nothing less.

So, if you haven't figured it out by now, the hype killed TP for me and was the reason why I find it to be the worst zelda game I've ever played...

Also, your comment is pretty asinine itself. You pretty much went out on a limb and assumed that everyone who dislikes TP does it for attention... :?

I personally really loved the Oracle games...I'm surprised you didn't like them. But yeah, I think Zelda II is the only stinker in the entire franchise -- discounting the CD-i games, of course. I dunno...but I just really didn't like the direction that Nintendo took with that game. I found it boring and frustrating at the same time, and it just wasn't engaging like the original Zelda game.

Hm... the worst I've played would have to be The Wind Waker. It seemed like it just didn't flow smoothly. But I've only played Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, The Minish Cap, and parts of Ocarina of Time and LTTP

How? It just opinions and nobody is trying to be cool by saying that. To me I was really excited about TP. I thought it was going to be outstanding, and I was even mad that Jeff gave it a 8.8 at first. However when I play the game it was a different story, as it was disappointing in a few spots. It was still a good game through, but it still the worst zelda game IMO.

There are not worst Zelda games. It is impossible. They are all great. Now as for the Zelda CD-I games...those are the unmentionable ones. They should just be forgotten. It's for the best.

wow thats going a bit far...game was a classic ..links adventure was garbage

wiifan001

I agree. That was the only Zelda I didn't enjoy.

This indicates that you haven't played Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link on NES yet (disregarding CD-i as well)

What's the difference between Link's Adventure and the Adventure of Link ? Isn't that the same game ?

On topic;I think the game I didn't like as much as the others would have to be Majora's Mask. Don't get me wrong, the game was good. But I didn't get into it enough to even finish it.

[QUOTE="wallsy9"][QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]

worst one i've played personally.

Haziqonfire

How could it possibly be? Unless you have only played two or three :| I would like to know why? :)

I've played link to the past, OoT, Wind Waker, Majora's Mask.

TP was the only one that disappointed me. It was boring and dull, basically it felt like a spiritual successor to OoT. The Art didnt work either, Wind Wakers art was a lot better. The music was also dull, i can recall many more tunes from WW than i can from TP.

Not to mention the Wii 'Waggle' was horrible and a huge turn off. Hardly 'innovative.'.

I'd have to agree on the mere fact that I expected TP to deliver the same nostalgia that OoT did. Sadly, I was disappointed as well. Collecting the light things from the bugs was really tedious and redundant.

Besides the CD-i Zelda's which Nintendo had nothing to do with.

I would say of what I played the First Zelda (It was great when I was younger but it is almost unplayable now I can still play it but it is kind've frustrating.) Zelda II: Adventure of Link (It was alright but completely different from the others and that was kind've a problem for me.)

I'm glad people are not afraid to bash Twilight Princess. It totally deserves the bashing.

Spirit Tracks has to be the worst Zelda title among the ones I've played (all minus Zelda I and II). Including Zelda as a sidekick felt forced, especially their portrayal of her as some kind of comic yet cutesy damsel. Was not a fan of much at all in that game, down to its most basic concept (the tracks and train). Someone said somehwere on the net that Zelda is supposed to be 'medieval', so what's with the train? Kind of a stretch to say, given its a fantasy world (and a game) but I totally agree when those kinds of things go too far.

Zelda: Majora's Mask did it with the whole 'aliens stealing cows' episode, but that was kind of an 'episode' and the game wasn't (at all) centered around it. Zelda: Spirit Tracks and (to some extent, Phantom Hourglass) don't know when to take themselves seriously or even how to go about doing that.

Besides the CD-i ones, Zelda ii is without a doubt the worst one. I can't believe the OP said the Oracle ones may be. Those are amazing games no doubt and are somewhat like 2d versions of Majoras Mask (to me anyway :P). I love all zeldas though :).

Ok, it has come quite apparent Zelda II, aside from the cdi games, is the worst Legend of Zelda game ever made. People can try to complain about Wind Waker, but a lot of it I'm sure has to do with the graphics. Personally, I enjoyed the graphics. But what is most important is gameplay and storyline. Wind Waker nailed both of them! My favorite Zelda game of all time is Link to the Past. I've played every Zelda game on a nintendo system of some sort, and the only one that displeased me was Zelda II. I'm hoping people will enjoy Skyward Sword. The graphics may appear to be displeasing right now, but remember, Twilight Princess had graphics that were rather poor at it's initial showing at E3. Nintendo will make improvements on the graphics, gameplay, etc... for Skyward Sword. I'm not worrired at all. It'll be one of the best Zelda games, as almost all of them are, to be made.

I agree about Zelda II being the worst. I also agree people judge WW harshly as it is probably my third favorite zelda game (OoT and ALtTP beat it) ever made, although all zeldas even the very first one ever made, are amazing games. I don't think graphics will be "improved" much in SS, as they already look great. I am sure there are environments that will look "better" to some people though. At first I wasn't sure about the style, but it is obvious it uses the power of the Wii and is slightly better then gamecube (as the Wii is), and it is really fresh and cool looking. I am very glad they went with the style as it looks crisp and will be able to convey a happy feel as well as sad and dramatic. I think TP always was sad and depressing which doesnt suit zelda. When thinks get dark and sad from being already somewhat dark and sad it does not have a big impact, but when it goes from being pretty happy and lighthearted to darkness falling upon the world, it is much more significant feeling.

Geez, this is an old thread...

Anyways, the Cd-i games (of course), Zelda II: Adventure of Link, and Phantom Hourglass are the worst for me. but PH is still okay.

And I love the Oracle games! They are hands down my favorite handheld Zelda titles. Seasons was the bets of the two Oracle games, but Ages was still great, too.

Wind Waker. It had a small amount of dungeons, was far easier than MM and OT, and was a total borefest from beginning to end. That, and I wasn't a fan of the cell shading.

I haven't even played all of them. Like: Minish Cap, Orical of Ages/Seasons, Phantom Hour Glass, and some of the really old ones. Also, I don't exactly own a Zelda game I don't like. I like the ones I have.
