I thought that it would be cool, and the wiimote would work as a good mouse, but I wanted to know if it is technically possible.  So if anyone knows could they post it here?

trying to mimic a mouse with the wiimote just to port over a standard rts would be disastrous. but a hybrid with unique control ideas made just for the wii and maybe with a tweak in the game flow to accomodate... could be amazing. unfortunately i have no idea if the wii could handle the many units of an rts considering the horrible lag/slowdown ive seen in multiplayer DBZ:BT2 and even single player red steel...

You're probably thinking traditional RTS, but Bwii will have RTS elements in it.

I wonder if the slow downs are a developing issue rather than the Wii harderware itself?

Wait, are there? I know there are a number of turn-based strategy games on that system (their one of the reasons I got a DS), but I don't recall any real time strategy games.

Anywho... yeah, with a little working, I'd say it'd be possible. (The issue isn't so much substituting the mouse, but substituting the keyboard.)

It'd almost certainly work better than the gamepad controls of RTS games on other consoles.

For the DS there is YS strategy... Has its flaws but the controls show a lot of potential for the genre...

What do you mean? the controls or the power of the system? well it doesnt really matter the answer is yes.
