So there are a lot of things that people want Nintendo to do for the Wii. What are the top five things that you want Nintendo to do? Here are mine:

1. Make their seal of quality mean something. Nintendo simply shouldn't allow much of the junk that we see on the Wii. Nintendo should inspect each game every so often during it's development to make sure that it is not sub-par, and give a final testing when the game is complete. This would hopefully eliminate broken controls, horrible graphics, ect.

2. Buy out some companys. Take Sega for instance. Face it, Sonic's creators are going down hill, and him with them. Nintendo would be perfect at making games for Sega's mascots, they have a history of making good first-party games of the same sort. Plus, with all their sales, they would have a much larger budgit for the games. Or how about getting rare back on our side? Or perhaps capcom, namco, or THQ? Nintendo could do with a few more second partys.

3. Better online. There is a simple solution to all our online problems, Parental Controls. Simply make it so that in order to fully experience online play, you have to know the systems pin number so you can set how limited online is. Let's say Mark's parents are fine with names being displayed during an online match, but no voice chat. They simply set names to on, and voice chat to off, among other things. It's that simple! Of course, the onine we wish for may require an anual fee like Live does, but i think it would be worth it.

4. More space. As you know, many gamers are running out of space on their Wii. So why not do the obvious and make it possible to run games directly off of an SD card.

5. More Mature games. As you know, Nintendo has made many of it's games open to casual gamers, but in the proccess has elimated some hardcore gamers who might have picked Wii over it's competition if it had had more mature titles. So, i don't see why Nintendo couldn't simply test the water of mature gaming, and allow another company free reign to develop a Mature Zelda game and a Mature Metroid game. If the games are a succsess, than Nintendo can start making more mature titles, while still making accessible ones of course. If they where to start making games of this sort, it could possibly draw more gamers from the 360 and PS3.

First of all, I love my Wii. But here are some things I would like.

1. Appeal to a more mature audience
2. Improve online with voicechat and get rid of FC.
3. Some sort of multimedia funtionality
4. Ummm...A FREAKIN DVD PLAYER!

Those are the only problems I have....but they are not a big deal really....I guess.

I have a 360 and a PS3, as well as a Wii. It would just be nice to have these things on the Wii too.

Then, why do both of you want the same features on a Wii? I understand some things that the Wii lacks, but that's because Microsoft and Sony made decisions to add these features to their consoles. Since the beginning, the Wii has been touted by Nintendo as being a purely gaming system...that's it. Don't expect DVD functionality or any other advanced features that makes the Wii cost less than the other two systems. There's a reason it costs less. Enjoy it for being the innovative gaming system that it is.

My five are this...

Better online interface...which includes text chat, voice chat, private chat etc

Online leaderboards and events...a la Xboxlive

More third party support...no more shovelware and more games from good devs

More channels...the wii has space for ALOT of channels...lets make some cool ones instead of the silly vote for Mii channel

Less "kiddy" appeal....puting games like manhunt on the Wii does not detract from the fact that most people view the Wii for their little kids and other consoles for the adults of the house (trust me...I work for a videogame retailer and I hear it all the time)

Fix these things and the Wii will not go the way of the Gamecube...Everyone seems to forget the Gamecube had strong sales when it came out...and then it tanked

I dont expect it to be added. It is just a feature I would like to have. And the Wii is selling at a profit. It costs, roughly, $170 to produce a Wii. The add on for the XBOX to play DVD`s was $30. So why did Nintendo not include the ability to play DVD`s. Its a cheap add-on but it adds so much. And when I am at a party we usually play the Wii because it has so many great party games. But when we are done and want to relax and play a DVD it would be nice to just pop it in the Wii. This topic is what Wii owners would like to be added to the Wii...I said what I wanted. So come on, whats the investigation?

LOL...no investigation there, Columbo. I was just excersing by right to post comments. I thought this was the top 5 ACTUAL things people were wanting Nintendo to change....not fictious wishes that could never actually come true. If that's the case, I would like all Nintendo games to be free, both Virtual Console and ones you purchase in the store. I would also like the Wii to do my taxes for me, answer my emails and text messages from my jerkwad friends, monitor the thermostat in my home, and make me a sandwich.

Now you are just being a jerk. Anyway, just this morning someone asked on the Wii forums if the Wii could play DVD. He was going to buy a Wii or PS3 or 360. He was interested in playing DVD because his player just broke. And this shouldn't even be a problem with the Wii, DVD is so old and inexpensive, there is no excuse for not having it.

I agree, especially when the Revolution was first announced it was going to have DVD capabilities, but they yanked it. don't know why.

In order...

1. Get better Online. Any FPS, Tactical Shooter, MMORPG I just want something!

2. Get better graphics. It kind of bugs me that I can't brag about this.

3. Get RE5. Nintendo needs to jump on this game. PAY CAPCOM to get it.

4. Get a headset.

5. Let us do free downloads via online.

What makes the Wi different makes it great. I don't want my Wii to be more like a 360 or a PS3 (I already have a 360). With that said, I would like to make a few changes.

1) Deeper online play. Mainly, more multiplayer modes and no FCs. I don't care too much about voice chat, as that just creates an atmosphere where people are jerks. (I've been on XBox Live for years dealing with this.)

2) Reach out to 3rd partys! Nintendo makes their control schemes hard for 3rd parties to map compared to the PS3 and XBox controllers. I live the Wiimote, but there needs to be more done to bring 3rd parties in. (Also, Nintendo owners need to buy 3rd party games).

3) Come out with games that would naturally work with the Wiimote- i.e. Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, and Star Fox.

4) DVD playback. It's cheap and it just makes sense. I hate having to switch between my DVD player and my Wii.

5) Voice acting. I believe Link and Mario are great silent heros, but can the supporting cast get a voice, please?

Lastly, I don't think the Wii needs better graphics or more mature games. The games that drive Nintendo consoles are driven more by gameplay than graphics, and always have been. Do you really need to see Mario's mustache in HD? Also, mature games would hurt the image of Nintendo. Nintendo, as a publisher, is the worlds best at churning out games everyone can enjoy. Unlike XBox with Halo, Gears, and other great games, Nintendo publishes games of equal or greater fun that EVERYONE can enjoy. It makes sense from a sales perspective.

Seriously? In other words be a good little nintendo follower and stop thinking for yourself and take what your given and be happy with it......

I may not agree with anything he posted for his 5 things he wants changed, but I still will defend his right to have an opinion about something. It shows he is at least using his head and thinking about something and not just following orders from the nintendo HQ. If you don't like the thread, then don't read it.

Guys, who honestly gives a damn about DVD players anymore. You can buy a nice one for like 20 bucks nowadays. Anyway, my five are:

1. More VC games, so we can at least keep up with Japan. They get like 3-4 games a week.
2. Better Channels that we can get. The Everybody Votes channel is a useless piece of crap. Waste of time and space.
3. Game Boy games on VC.
4. Revive more old-school titles like theyre supposed to be doing with Kid Icarus. A new Ice Climbers game would be awesome.
5. Easier and better online. I dont really have a problem with it now, but it would be way easier if they changed it up and bit. I would be willing to pay for it if it is made well.
