In your opinion, what do you think what be a good reason to buy the WiiU, that is if you plan on buying it.

There's only 1 reason that I would,

If Nintendo adds Gamecube games to the virtual console.

But I've got no idea if the WiiU and the Wii's VC'll be connected, and there are also countless rumors that the WiiU'll bring GC to VC

Nintendo games. There's really no other reason to buy a piece of Nintendo hardware at this point, although it also means the WiiU will be (like the Wii) a supplementary console rather than a primary one.

This. As long as Nintendo makes consoles, there will always be a Nintendo console in my house.

Retro Studios. Monolith Soft. If I buy a Wii U, it'll be because these two forced me to because they're so amazing.

My PC can handle all the games I want to play on the other systems better than they can (BF3, Skyrim, etc)

Because Nintendo's consoles actually work and don't have ridiculous issues such as RROD or YLOD.

My reason to getting the WiiU?

It might be something to do with 1st and 2nd party games... yes I think that might be it.

I love my Wii. I had played endless hours and still doing it as often as I can. My main reason to get a Wii U would be to get an innovative and perdurable experience as I got with my Wii. Also note I'm not done with my Wii so the new console needs to have a real punch to make me switch. I actually expect to still be playing Xenoblade and The Last Story when the Wii U comes out so it will take some effort to make itself unmissable for me Regards

For the same reason I would buy any system, the games. Though I would never buy a console for re-released games. If you really want to play GC games that badly, just buy a GC.

I've got a GameCube, with many 1st party and great 3rd party games.

It's just some of the cult classics are hard to find and/or very expensive nowadays, so by adding GC to VC, it's making GC games way easier to obtain.

If the Wii's VC is any indication, your chances of seeing those cult classics, isn't much greater.

There is no reason to buy a Wii U. At least not yet, we don't know anything about its hardware, software, online infrastructure, etc.

fan of Nintendo, only have Nintendo console from NES, SNES, *broke no $*, GameCube, then Wii ..its only Wii when I find myself having to buy the other console. So will end up with a WiiU whether it be on launch day is the question.

Software. Like any of Nintendo's console post-N64, which were usually 'weaker' hardware-wise than their counterparts, I'll be getting the WiiU because of the Nintendo exclusives. The innovative controls in the Wii played a big part in my purcashing of the console, of course -- I love motion controls if they're tied to good games (as in, Skyward Sword or Red Steel 2, not Star Wars for Kinect!). I'm not sure the tablet-thingy the WiiU has for a controller will appeal to me - it seems much more a gimmick than the big change motion controls were, for instance - but I'll still pick it up to see the new Metroids, Marios, Zeldas, Donkey Kongs, Kirbies and whatever new exclusive games they release :) .

Well we skipped on getting a Wii. (my gf and I)

We both grew up playing awesome games on older Nintendo systems. (NES, SNES, N64) So we would like to have the backlog (VC) of a lot of those older titles to share with one another, also maybe try some we never got a chance to back then.

I Also want to play newer Zelda, Mario games that were on the Wii (which we never got to play), As well as the inevitable awesome Zelda, Mario, Mario kart WiiU titles.

The controller intrigues me, I also feel it would be fun for everyone in the house to play.

Something in me sparks, like when I was a kid looking forward to the N-64, when I look forward to the WiiU.

So all in all, we are getting it for several generations of gaming, even before we get into the WiiU's actual title lineup.

I also feel the the ps3 and 360 graphics are good enough in my opinion, I just wish the performance was a little better, which is what I am hoping for in the WiiU, more so than better graphics.

As of the time of typing this, I have no reason to buy the WiiU. The information that would prompt me to make the decision to buy the system is either scarce or non-existent at the moment. Without knowing how much it'll cost, what it'll eventually do, and what games that will be available to appeal to me, there's no incentive to consider buying the WiiU at this very moment.

Sure, I could use the tried-and-true "I've been a Nintendo fan for *this many* years, have all the other consoles, etc." speech, but for all I know, I could be verbally signing up for a $599 USD system that features games where I'm reenacting ancient Japanese battles with Giant Enemy Crabs. A dramatization? Probably, but I'd still rather not risk it. Not to mention that the 3DS hasn't done a whole lot to get me excited about Nintendo's direction of late, so unless something ground-breaking comes around, I could be sitting it out for a good while.

Hope this answers your question, TC. :P

I'm buying it, because, I buy all game consoles, handhelds, and upgrade my PC every few years as needed. It doesn't really matter what it does or doesn't do, what it costs, or how good or bad it is, at some point I will own it, probably on launch day.
