I hate to say this because I love the 3DS so much, but it was very dissapointing. The games shown were good and all, but absolutely no new games were announced. Not even any localizations. I would have much rather had a teaser to Zelda or Metroid or Super Smash Bros. then 15 minutes of Paper Mario footage. I love Paper Mario, but I already know its coming. Its unfourtunate, Nintendo had so much they could've done this press conference, so many people were excited for this conference. We didn't even get to see Animal Crossing. I was hoping for something special, it would have made my day, but nothing. Really the most surprising news for me at that conference was the addition of co-op in New Super Mario Bros. 2 and some demo confirmations. Really hoping for something special. I was almost certain that since Nintendo dedicated an entire hour to the 3DS, something big would happen, but nope. Very unfortunate, were all gonna have to wait.

Yes I was a bit dissapointed in the fact that they didn't show off any new or unanouced games, but I'm excited for Paper Mario. Looks pretty good to me.

Very disappointed with no new games. I didn't really care what they were going to show- I just wanted it to be a game that we didn't already know about.

Nintendo is fully embracing digital distribution, demo's and they are releasing three stellar games by the end of the year on 3DS, Fire Emblem got confirmed, there is good third party support too. What more can I ask for?

It got me excited about the Wii's upcoming line up, enough so to actually warrant a purchase. I can understand being disappointed by no new announcements, but with so many great games on the way, does it really matter?

Disappointed about no Animal Crossing news, but Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario look good, Paper Mario in particular.

Seriously, I wish they could take like 5 seconds to mention stuff like this during the conference...

Totally lame. They didn't show us anything we haven't already heard about. I figured they'd reveal at least one or two new games, but they didn't.

Lucky I just read that fire emblem is coming to NA otherwise I would have been really mad. The games they shown were not bad by any means i guess I was expecting some sort of surprise since they needed another hour to show 3ds games. instead they show the same stuff we seen at yesterday's conference. Also Animal Crossing was one of the first games announced for the 3ds and still no info, come ON!

I liked the part where they were playing NSMB 2, and Scott said you could monitize the world in the game, and a lot of people chuckled at that. I think some of us understand why. On a seperate note, yeah, I was dissappointed too, though I did like the Pokemon announcements being a fan.

It might not had any new announcement but the games they showed were great, also I'm so looking forward to tried out the free flow battle system on KH3D when the demo comes out.

Yeah, I felt let down, but I feel kinda wrong for it. I only feel that way because I wanted to see something new announced, but no one ever said that was going to happen, that's just what I WANTED. Truth be told, every game they showed looked awesome, so, you know... it was great in that way. I just figured if they were dedicating a whole hour just to 3DS we'd see some kind of something we didn't know about already...

Really? No new games? Looks like I didn't miss anything after all... this is like the worst E3 ever, ugh.

At least Fire Emblem is westward bound, so I guess Nintendo fulfilled the absoluteminimum requirements.

Really very mediocre. And the lack of Animal Crossing makes me personally VERY disappointed in it.

Animal Crossing not showing up here means it won't even be released this year.

I enjoyed it, they showed off games, loved the paper mario demonstration and could of watched that all day, the presenter was good, down to earth and more honest than the rest of them at E3.

Compared to last year's 3DS showing it wasn't great, but I thought it was a good conference. Reggie is clearly aware of his internet stardom with all the one-liners he's thrown out at E3, and Scott Moffitt seemed like a nice presenter even though it was clear that he was a little nervous. (Oh, and thanks for the new puzzle Mr. Moffitt!)

I wasn't expecting them to show anything new, since they already have so many upcoming games they haven't said much about yet. So I was disappointed that they didn't even mention Animal Crossing. You would think they would want to talk about a new version of one of their best selling DS games...

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon looks great and it was probably a good idea to change the name, since there may not be many 3DS owners who've played the first (I haven't). Paper Mario: Sticker Star looked pretty fun (they should put the guy that talked about it on stage more) and I'm glad that exploration is important, but I'm worried that no leveling up and no battle experience will make the battles feel less meaningful.

And New Super Mario Bros. 2 looked like...umm, well... New Super Mario Bros. 2. I wasn't too impressed by what they showed of NSMB 2 at the conference, but after downloading the eShop trailer I think it looks kinda fun.
I love the new/altered theme song, and it's nice to know that the boss dinosaurs from Super Mario World are back. Though, I'm a little disappointed that they're pretty much using the same backgrounds from New Super Mario Bros. Wii with a blur effect.
It was nice seeing them push the eShop by announcing that Dark Moon, Sticker Star and NSMB 2 would all be available in the eShop on the same day that the games hit retail. The confirmation of more demos on the way, and that one demo is already available was also a nice little surprise. But what was probably the best announcement (FE: Awakening coming to North America) wasn't even at the conference(s).

Unfortunately it seems that there were a lot of victims of the Nintendo Overhype Train this year.

Hoping for the best and actually expecting it to happen are two very different things. It's fine to hope for the best and be disappointed when there's nothing shown that interests you, but it's silly to expect the best and then get mad when it doesn't go your way. (not aiming this at anyone specific)

After a Toad gave Mario a health boosting heart for helping him, the presenter said something along the lines of:

"Now for those of you who are Vets of Paper Mario. You'll probably notice; in that earlier battle that I didn't get any experience points, which is weird for the Paper Mario series, since you're obviously used to getting experience points. You're still going to have that sort of RPG leveling up experience in this game, it's just going to be gotten in a different way.

You have to solve peoples problems like I just did using stickers. You have to solve puzzles in the game environment, you have to scour all these areas to find hidden nooks and crannies and find secret sticker caches. You really just need to look around, and that's the way you're gonna boost your album size, your gonna boost Mario's health, you're gonna boost your attacks."

You can watch the full 3DS presentation to hear his exact words, and some other interesting bits about the game:

http://e3.nintendo.com/presentation/#/nintendo-3ds-software-showcase

The Paper Mario: Sticker Star Demonstration start around 20:00 minutes in (After Epic Mickey) and it lasts for about 10 minutes.

Im sorry but Paper Mario just looks freaking stupid. Everything they showed off for it made me want it less. No battle experience?.. Then why would I EVER want to get in a battle? I don't gain anything from that? that is ridiculous.. And all the sticker nonsense was stupid too.

Castlevania and Luigi's Mansion look good.

i have to agree with you in some parts like with fire emblem and even tho this e3 is lackluster and not as good as past ones to say like the worst e3 ever seems harsh and paper mario looked great intel i saw that they are trashing the exp system and now guys get stronger by doing minor tasks and getting stat upgrades is just a bad bad bad idea

Worked perfectly well for Okami. I'm sure it can work well with Paper Mario too.

i saw the conference a few hours ago (bloody real life getting in the way of important things). the objective seems to be collecting stickers so changing it to getting bonuses for helping people rather than EXP to level up is a pretty good idea imho. my only concern is that collecting stickers could possibly turn into a very boring grind....hopefully the game will be balanced so that it wont be necessary. on the conference overall.....solid. not a lot of surprises (though i am interested in castlevania now) but my 3DS will be busy. its a shame there was no animal crossing though...i hope that is coming out here in europe this year.

This seems to have been the theme of E3'12 as a whole this year, it's just another one of those years were everything was already announced, it happens surprisingly often. The one thing to take away from this years E3, is that, with the exception of one or two titles, EVERYTHING shown will have released by next E3, so the next one is more likely to have the surprise announcements we all crave (as long as they don't leak before hand, which is always annoying).

I don't know why people care so much about games being announced. They showed Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion last year and said nothing about them, I would rather see games I only know the name of, then just adding more games to that list.
