I thought it was dang hilarious.... but then again I have had that conversation with my wife more than once...Some of you guys aren't getting it, for God's sake! It's pretty simple to follow, I don't know what's so difficult about this.
This thread isn't about "Hey, certain people like these games, so you should too!" If that's what you think this thread is about, you're an idiot.
This thread is saying "Hey, certain people like these games, so maybe you should stop questioning why the companies make them."
People like the games, so what? Does that mean that you have to like them? No.
Does a bad score equal a crappy game to everyone? You think that your taste is the only taste allowed? Stop being so selfish, it's not always about you, you, you. It's not always what you want.bob_newman
Just playing Devil's advocate; but isn't the the basis of this entire post... your opinion? Are they not allowed to voice their opinions even though they don't agree with you? For God's sake! Why won't you understand that not everyone follows the same grounds of thought, and that they simply disagree with something you fullheartedly agree with? Although each person brings a valid point to the table, at the end of the day no one's opinion will change, althought they do hold the possibility to offer a different insight to the subject. For most people, it's just a visual problem (i.e. seeing SMG sitting next to Hannah Montana on the shelf) even this in a sense bugs me because as a consumer *gasp* we rely on visuals. You simply don't see any Vegans shopping inside a hunting store, so why would I want a product that I want to buy be placed beside something that is directed to an age group significantly lower than mine? I don't even know because I agree with both sides... I guess people are just stupid.

get off the computer and go give her hugs and kisses right now!
she is way more important than the internet!
i'll stick to Gamerankings thanks. a few customer reviews made by casuals don't tell me if the game is quality or not.
btw, who ever said no one liked those games? There are people, but i doubt they're the majority.

i liked hannah montana! me and some friends rented it.
it was fun...
and stupid...
but thats what made fun! hehe :P
thank you, im not seeing why everyone else cant see what he was saying. Some of you guys aren't getting it, for God's sake! It's pretty simple to follow, I don't know what's so difficult about this.

It's not aboutwhat scores they get from reviewers. That's not the point here. The point is that people actually like the games regardless of the score.
Does a bad score equal a crappy game to everyone? You think that your taste is the only taste allowed? Stop being so selfish, it's not always about you, you, you. It's not always what you want.
Besides, there are plenty of games available that you can and will enjoy, does every game need to be "AA+"? You wouldn't have the time to play them, nor the money to buy them, so why do you care?
I can guarantee you that 95% of the people here do not own all of the top 25 games of the Wii's best reviewed games, so why not go buy one of those and stop complaining that there aren't enough good games?

I think all that those "People DO Like Them" games in your list show that quality is subjective. You show 4 out of 5 ratings, but there are also 1, 2, or 3 out of 5's out there. That shows that while some may think these games are awesome, other people think they suck out loud.
It all depends on the gamer. Personally, I think most of the games you mentioned are average, and as that's my opinon, that's fine. I don't want them, so I don't buy them. Very simple.
Amazon isn't a good example, if you check gamespot players reveiws, then you can see people don't like them.ThaT-Masta
You missed part of the point
There's a big world outside game sites and that's what I'm showing.
That in the REAL world people are liking these games just fine.
Amazon isn't a good example, if you check gamespot players reveiws, then you can see people don't like them.ThaT-Mastathe important thing isnt that there are people who dont like it... the important thing is that there are people who do like it... Jaysonguy isnt trying to convince you to get these games, he just wanted people to stop making all the threads that had titles like "Nintendo needs to stop making Mario Party" (or add in any other game in that spot). The fact is even if people dont like a game, there are still people who like them.
The more choices a system has the better it is...
Let's say a family has a 6 year old girl, a 10 year old boy and a 28 year old dad.
Only one system would cover all there needs. The 6 year old girl will be happy playing the licensed movie games and the minigames. The older boy would get the first party platformers & the minigames. The father would get the more mature games like RE, Metroid and others.
Last generation, the PS2 had all this. I remember playing Shrek with my 6 year old niece and then playing GTA & Metal gear with her father.
The internet savy hardcore Gears of war player will not be intereted in these games, but is he the targeted demographic? If all the older gamers look in their library, I'm sure we all have NES movie games & licensed games...

And most gamers don't, you're posting this on Gamespot, where almost all the community is gamers.

That's the reason that those same gamers are missing the boat completely when it comes to sales, who is buying these games, and what their overall perception is.
Ever hear the saying "Too far in the forest to see the trees"?
That's what's happening here. One section of the gaming public is too wrapped up in their needs and wants that they're totally ignoring another important part of the demographic. What's even worse is that someone who follows gaming very closely should KNOW this stuff if they want to know the industry as a whole.
The kind of people who visit sites like Gamespot should know more then their novice counterparts but at times like this they're really equally matched.
