Unfortunately, yeah, it's gone.

This is why I always keep at least two saves ongoing - probably something you'll want to do in the future.

*sigh* Oh well that just means I can go back and get all those heart pieces I missed...

I had this problem, but there is something you can do!! Not sure it's legal though, and I'm not sure your sibling will like it...
