We've been told that Zelda Wii will get time travel elements.

I think this time travel component will differ from the one we got in the OoT.

My theory:

- we will begin the game as young Link;

- as young Link we'll have multiple encounters with someone like "The hero of time";

- "The hero of time" will help us in some quests / dungeons and teach us some techniques;

! end of the first part of the game !

- then, we will get to grow up and become "The hero of time";

! being of the second part of the game !

- as "The hero of time" we'll get to travel to the past and help young Link and probably seeing OUR gameplay as young Link in the beginning of the game;

- we'll get to play other parts of the previous played dungeons, and overcome some obstacles to meet with young Link at certain points;

- the time travel would not be grown Link -> young Link as in OoT, but rather present time -> past time; or even future time.

Some plot theory that would fit in this theory:

- "The hero of time" could give young Link the master sword;

- young Link could be targeted by Ganon or someone, as Ganon would want to avoid young Link to grow up and become "The hero of time";

- "The hero of time" would try to prevent young Link to die.

Cool? Are you looking for some discussion or what? Because this seems like more of a blog post. This isn't a theory as much as a wish list. Additionally, we haven't been told anything about time travel from any significant sources.

I'm so tired of Zelda using time as a gameplay mechanic. I really am getting rather bored with it. They need to create something new

Twilight Princess used a unique idea that just one level had time involved, but other than that. I'm glad they stayed away from it. Hopefully they stay away from the "dark/light" world thing too.

But just out of curiosity, who told us that time would be involved? Are you referring to that "insider source" artile a few weeks ago? Didn't they also say that flying would be a part of gameplay too?

I hope there is no such thing as time travel. That concept has been overused already, and the Zelda series itself has a good share of games that make use of that mechanic.

I think Zelda Wii should use something else other than time. Like weather or something. Minish Cap tried the whole size manipulation thing and that worked out wonderfully. Nintendo should try more ideas like that.

Yes, I loved how the bosses were regular enemies, but supersized due to your reduced stature. :D

Well, I thought I read that someone from Nintendo had confirmed this: http://thewiire.com/blog/post/6183-rumor-new-zelda-wii-details-leaked

I think the feeling of "that's me playing!" is the new revolution of this game in terms of time traveling. That's why I put it as a theory and not as a wish list. They said they wanted it to be special and if this theory is right I guess it will be.

I don´t think they´ll involve time in this oportunity, they already did that on OoT and Majoras Mask

They need something new

The only Zeldas that use time that I'm aware of are OoT and those 'oracle' games.

You speak as if all games have time travels, unless you have only played OoT and MM as it seems.

I would enjoy more time travel done in a different way. Time Travel has already been done, but it could be done in many different ways. And it is always interesting.

Time travel in Zelda is so ridiculous; I mean it's totally impossibly. Everyone knows that there are no DeLoreans in Hyrule.

I love time travelling. I don't know what it is about it but I just eat that **** up! I personally hope that it is included but there are so many ploys to introduce it and I hope they come up with a facinating way to do such.

Actually not a bad idea, not entirely original but what truely is. There are only seven stories, in reality it is just how you tell them that makes them different.
