What would have been more profound?

elpooz

A better song.

What kind of a hypothetical question is that?

This was a very good year for rap, might have to edit my list as far as my top 10 faves. About time,'07-'10 sucked horribly....

So... better = profound and profound = better?

Again, how could the song have been more profound? Profound isn't necessarily an indication of quality, and something being "good" certainly doesn't mean it is profound...

A more profound song*.

There is no relevance to what you're asking. If you had said: "why don't you think it's profound" or "why does that matter?" it would be a different story.

Do you think it's profound?

It's pretty obvious that I was asking you what would have made it more profound or what about it wasn't profound. I'm sorry you couldn't catch that or chose not to.

Oh a more profound song would have been more profound... durrrr. Makes sense, never thought of it like that.  :|

No, you asked "what would have been more profound?". That does not equal=why was it not profound, and is a stupid question.

I'm sorry that my intellect does not reach your levels. :(

Where's Fat Rob's list

Most likely the only other person I know of who liked the Childish Gambino album as much or more than I did

I had a busy year and missed out on almost everything that came out this year. I also got a record player, so most of my music listening was done on vinyl, and that was mostly old albums. My only recent ones are Mellowhype Blackenedwhite and Aloe Blacc Good Things.

I'll use this thread as a recommendation on what to check out though.

As for what I did listen to my favorite mixtapes were ASAP Rocky's Liveloveasap, Big Krit's Return of 4eva and Currensy's Covert Coup in that order. If I get a chance later, I'll make a proper list and for the other categories as well.

lol @ so many nominations for J Cole's album yet not a single vote for "Lost Ones" for song of the year. Definitely the most I've been impressed with a major label rap song in years. I remember the way Rob talked about Little Brother's "All For You" a few years back; I feel that's exactly what Cole nailed on that track.
