Alright, i know nothing about him, but I was watching some Hip Hop Award show...and he got honored for being so good at being alive....i want to start listening to him just because he looked so legit just sitting in his giant chair with his african bowstaff looking thing.....he looked like king of life...

What are his best songs to listen to?? I dont even know where to start....whats a good album to go listen to??

By the way anybody happen to know what award show he was honored at?? I cant find the name anywhere...i think it was something to do with VH1....i was watching it on some HD Music channel that has nothing to do with VH1 though...

Planet Rock and Looking For the Perfect Beat are probably his best songs.

He wasn't really a great recording Hip-Hop but it was him along with Grandmaster Flash and Kool DJ Herc that founded Hip-Hop in the Bronx. He was known as the "Master Of Records". He encouraged afrocentricity in early Hip-Hop and also set up the Mighty Zulu Nation (you'll hear a lot of shout-outs to the Zulu Nation in Hip-Hop).

The show was the "VH1 Hip-Hop Honors". As for the music I don't know since I don't listen to him, isn't he just a DJ/Producer though? I didn't know he rapped...

Yeah he didn't rap, he's most famous for being a pioneering DJ in Hip-Hop, he deserves much props.

That song is awsome, I didn't know that was Afrika though.

This is the only song I know I have where he made the beat. Renegades of Funk-Rage Against the Machines Which was sampled from his original Renegades of Funk-Africa Bambaataa & The Sonic Force
