Since I'm a supposed Dr. Dre stan, I'm gonna have to put Bishop Lamont out there. I can't count the times I've bumped this. His first album looks amazing in it's content and with guest appearances by Eminem, Nas, Warren G, and T.I...I'm down
Next up is Wale who I've been following for a while now. I've loved his mix tapes and this guy is pretty damn consistent. He just puts out one great song, afteranother

My favorite is Jay Electronica, but I've been feeling Wale, B.O.B., Guilty Simpson if he counts, Drake is dope at times, K'Naan is cool, some I'm sure I'm forgetting.

But Drake seems to be getting a bit overrated to me now. I mean its cool that he's getting popular, but some people act like his music is so great, and its not THAT good.
Drake (just listened to So Far Gone and it is possibly the best thing I have heard this year... i LOVE this dude), CH, Mickey Factz, Constro (:) ), Colin Munroe (I'm maaad surprised that no one has mentioned him... Forget needs to get his ass back here), Asher Roth, Team Teamwork (made Ocarina of Rhyme - probably my favorite mash tape since Feed the Animals), and Kid Cudi.
And Wale isn't up and coming. Dude has been rapping since like 2003/2004. He's just been getting buzz outside of the DMV in the last 3 years or so...elpooz

i'm waiting for B.o.B to blow up soon and considering he has connections with TI I know he will pretty soon. I finally got around to all his mixtapes and they're all really dope. He has a unique voice but some say it's similar to Andre 3000, I can only tell in a couple songs but to me he sounds a lot different then any rapper out today.Â

Wale might have had DMV buzz for years but DMV =/= everywhere else, where tha general main stream has no real clue who he is, until just recently (within th year) he dropped Nike Boots video on MTV & ish, shared that XXL cover with CH, Cudi, etc (whom are other dudes up and coming like himself) and now he's actually serious about an album with a single out already and still not alotta people know about him.. he even had a remix with Lil Wayne which is helping him "up and come" so to speak.. Just because everybody knows him in tha DMV, doesnt mean everybody else was on him like that.. I'm sure Kid Cudi had huge buzz out in Cleveland for years before releasing Day 'N' Night and having ringtone commercials.. but only dudes in Cleveland would really be able to tell you that

I would say Crooked I is "up and coming", especially with this new SlaughterHouse buzz and releasing that single with Akon (I even heard that on my local radio station and it kinda threw me off)
