[QUOTE="elpooz"]jay > blu and this washed up mc. maybe if Talib was talking **** like this, I would be alright with it. but mos def? after his last two albums, **** no......elpooz

You just had to bring blu into this... Well, like halftime said, right now, Blu>>>Jay-Z. Cant' really compare though, since they have completely different styles.

You call Mos washed up, but not Jay? that doesn't make sense at all.

My problem with Jay is that NONE of his tracks have good replayability. I get tired of all his tracks after a few plays.

I wouldn't call Jay washed up at all... AG was dope. MUCH better than Mos' two last albums... and Jay has 10, while mos has 5.

Even the RD tracks don't have replay value for you...? Blueprint, RD, The Black Album and Vol. 1 have always been very appealing and lasting albums for me.

Nope. Zero replay value. Only tracks i bump ocasionally are Success (Nas' verse), Girls, Girls, Girls (Biz's hook), and Roc Boys (cuz of the Trumpets). other than that, his ish is Aight, at best, to me.

Lil Wayne: Easily...

Jay: May not a few years ago, but now most likely

Kanye: Don't think so either.

Yup Most Def could mos def beat them.

I chuckled at that one too.

Jay could rap about raping babies, space martians, and blue polka dots for 60 bars, and still be more interesting then Blu's corny ass.

jay is past his prime. GET OVER IT.

past his prime and still better than blu. honestly, blu will not put out anything above an 8/10 without exile production.

this really is nonsense, like lm said. comparing this little nukka who has barely dropped anything to one of the GOAT who is 10 albums deep? There isn't a comparison to be made... That's like standing Rakim and B.o.B. next to each other.

Blu is just an above average lyricist who brought the best out in exile and dropped a good album. That's it. There is nothing special about this dude. Hov, on the other hand, is clever, has amazing charisma and presence, can flow over any beat (not just soulful, watered down, exile beats), and can drop any kind of track and talk about anything  and make it sound tight. I think you need to either get off Blu's nuts or go listen to AG again people :|. "No Hook" >>> anything on Below the Heavens... and that wasn't even the best track.

lmfao at elpooz saying AG is better than Below The Heavens. That album was bad, not as bad as Kingdom Come, but definitely below average. Below The Heavens was a great album. Anyone that says Blu isn't a dope lyricist is in denial. And you can say what you want about the overuse of "Chipmunk soul" beats but Exile did them pretty damn well on that album.

Dope beats, dope rhymes, don't know what more you could want.

Where in my post does it say that I think AG was better than BTH :|? I said that a track on AG (and another, specifically Ignorant ****) was better than any of the tracks on BTH. That doesn't AT ALL mean that I think AG is a better album. You are honestly the worst person at comprehending things on OTB.

BTH is dope, but Blu is not as good a mc as Jay. And yes BTH is better than AG, but not by a lot and mainly because exile knows how to make albums cohesive and tracks fit together very well.

I never said Blu wasn't a good lyricist, just that he wasn't as good as Jay.

And even if he was, Jay's charisma, presence, flow, and just general delivery >>>>>>>>>>>> Blu's.....

****, let's say Blu is the better lyricist, he's still losing in several categories. Jay is the better mc.

Ignorant **** shouldn't of even been on AG, it was suppose to go on TBA.

But still, Jay-Z>>>>>Blu

Blu is that dude. Jay cannot ride a beat. He gets off way too much. just because he usesdifferent kind of beats does not mean hes good at it. LOL at you calling Exile's production watered down.

I think you need to get off my nuts, always trynna bring up blu.

You dont have to agree with me. I have never found Jay appealing, at all. Dude is boring to me, i only  listen to him beacuse of, either the production or the guests on his tracks.

i never said thats the only reason i'd rather listen to blu instead of Jay.   im not even gonna attempt to make you understand my reasons. Really, you get into debates with everyone for no reason. and when you got nothing to say yo either put a smiley or "lol at you for calling me that over the intenet lololol, loser, get a life."

Exile is one of the best out right now.

You are on my nuts dun, get off.

Blueprint, RD, and BA are his only bearable albums, TO ME.

again, these are my personal preferences, all you Blu haters don't have to agree and cry about it.

  again with your ish... i said there can't be a good comparison of the two. I thought you wold let it go there but whatever.

Blu and jay are nothing like Rakim and BoB. Rakim ishes all over jay, and BoB is wacksauce.

Blu is that dude. Jay cannot ride a beat. He gets off way too much. just because he usesdifferent kind of beats does not mean hes good at it. LOL at you calling Exile's production watered down.

I think you need to get off my nuts, always trynna bring up blu.

AG was garbage. get off Hovs nuts also. BTH is better than over half of Hovs garbage discog.

...

this is for real? you are legitly saying that blu is better than jay has ever been...? and that BTH is better than mose jay albums...?

i'm honestly at a loss for words. this appauls me :|...... no joke.

i want to laugh at your whole post, but then i realize that youre serious and i just kinda sit and stare.

and your arguement makes my jaw drop. basically, blu is that dude, and jay "gets off too much" so blu > jay. that makes so much sense. thank you for the enlightment.

exile's production is watered down.

i am not on your nuts :|.

AG was a dope album, i'm not on jay's nuts, and Blueprint, RD, Vol 1-3, and BA > BTH...

Blueprint, RD, and BA are his only bearable albums, TO ME.

again, these are my personal preferences, all you Blu haters don't have to agree and cry about it.

lmao? YOU are going to bring up personal preference. gtfo. you have nothing left to defend your nyquill bottle and your falling back on that. the dude who always flames me for liking wayne is bringing that crap up . jay > blu. get over it.

and no... i'm really not on your nuts :|

 at RD and blueprint being "bearable"

past his prime and still better than blu. honestly, blu will not put out anything above an 8/10 without exile production.

this really is nonsense, like lm said. comparing this little nukka who has barely dropped anything to one of the GOAT who is 10 albums deep? There isn't a comparison to be made... That's like standing Rakim and B.o.B. next to each other.

Blu is just an above average lyricist who brought the best out in exile and dropped a good album. That's it. There is nothing special about this dude. lmfao

socially uplifting topics ahahahaha, omg get this kid out of here...

lol

Black Star/Black on Both Sides Mos = legend. Lyrically, he owns.

Talib's solo career has definitely been more consitent though.

As for Jay can't even imagine him in a battle nowadays.

if it's so obvious he can beat them, why is mos even throwing it out there? Like I said, he's tryin to get hype. the dude isn't that good, even though you ppl seem to worship the guy.

Jay can't "ride a beat", Jay has proved a countless number of times he OWNS at riding at a beat, it's one of the things that make him such a talented artist.

But for real, all you dudes hating on Mos Def just cause he's released a bad album (like your fav. rapper hasn't) Mos would take a **** on everyone one of those artists MAYBE not Jay, but tbh I think he'd take him in a battle too. When it comes to who I prefer listening to, I'd take Jay over Mos though.

yea I agree, even though I think Mos could beat Jay right now. Kanye, well, he just sucks (hate to say it) lyrically, and Weezy honestly wouldn't do anything. And yea, once again, I prefer Jay Z over Mos Def for casual listening, despite who would win in a battle.

lmfao at elpooz saying AG is better than Below The Heavens.

Dope beats, dope rhymes, don't know what more you could want.

elpooz

LOL at you trying to insult me when no one on this entire forum takes you seriously. You embarrass yourself in all of your posts with contradiction and general idiocy. F&L is a classic:lol: , and i still remember the thread you made when you first came here that said you saw Sean Price get chased down into a bathroom by a group of people:lol: GTFOH with that garbage. Your opinion on hip hop is worthless. Also, where did I say Blu was the better emcee? I said I like Blu better RIGHT NOW. Jay-Z is one of the greatest rappers ever. I never said that Blu is a better overall emcee, that's ridiculous.

Also, I have no clue how me liking Blu makes me some kind of stan.(This is in general to people on OTB, not just elpooz) I like Blu alot, I like Jay alot. I prefer the music Blu has made in the last few years to the music Jay has made. People are too quick to hop on the your a hater bandwagon.

I think you need to either get off Blu's nuts or go listen to AG again people :|. "No Hook" >>> anything on Below the Heavens... and that wasn't even the best track.

  again with your ish... i said there can't be a good comparison of the two.

Blueprint, RD, and BA are his only bearable albums, TO ME.

again, these are my personal preferences, all you Blu haters don't have to agree and cry about it.

lmao? YOU are going to bring up personal preference. gtfo. you have nothing left to defend your nyquill bottle and your falling back on that. the dude who always flames me for liking wayne is bringing that crap up . jay > blu. get over it.

and no... i'm really not on your nuts :|

 at RD and blueprint being "bearable"

Wtf.. ha, who said im defending anything?? i could care less if you dislike Blu.  Blu>>>jay,to me, get over it. Below the Heavens is crack. It's a chill REAL album. I dont' recall Jay doin anything close to it recently.

yeah, theyre bearable. those are his only albums i can listen to without skipping all the songs but one or two.

:|. yes, because your opinion constitutes the authenticity of music now.

yeah cuz thats exacty what i said.

just stop foo, you cant debate worth ****.

:|

yes, that is what you said....... do i have to blow it up for you?

lmfao at elpooz saying AG is better than Below The Heavens.

-Halftime-

People are too quick to hop on the your a hater bandwagon.

i love how you just stated a bunch of irrelavent bs instead of addressing what I said.

say what you want about my opinion and tastes, that's childish. calling someone's opinion "worthless" is 1) ignorant and 2) irrational.

next time you quote me, don't go on a little distracting rant... address what i've said and actually discuss the subject.

RIGHT NOW blu's flow, delivery, charisma, and presence do not match jay's. even if he is the better lyricist, he is not the better overall rapper atm. and i never said that you thought blu was a better mc as jay in the long run..... i used present tense verbs, which meant that i was saying that you think he is better NOW.

so really... nothing in your post corresponded to my arguement or what i was saying. i'm thinking you get it now though... so i won't rag on your apparent inability to comprehend anymore.

Every time gamr tries to talk about a rapper they always say Blu sucks compared to them or something... or at least that's my guess.

I dont even have that many plays for D'Angelo's two albums + B-sides/live recordings/outtakes/etc....

I saw some dude with the strangest charts on last.fm the other day. He had a bunch of west coast artists... and this is not the exact order or anything but it went something like this:

NWA- 1000 plays
Ice Cube- 500 plays
Dr. Dre- 500 plays
Eazy-E- 400 plays
whoever- 350 plays
whoever- 250 plays
whoever- 200 plays
whoever- 150 plays
whoever- 125 plays
whoever- 115 plays
whoever- 100 plays

etc.

and everything was perfectly... either ended in a 0 or 5:?
