[QUOTE="WizengamotX"]You didn't mention Shoot me Down... thats like one of wayne's best. Its like a darker more tamed 'Feel like dying.Just listen to his lyrics. Yeah Lil' Wayne I can speak in different voices, accents, and speeds. So can alot of people. At least we write down our thoughts, lyrics, etc. before we go and say they are the most genious product hip hop has ever seen. Stupid crackhead.
Now that being said, I like the Carter 3 alot. My favorite songs are 3 Peat, Mr. Carter, and Phone Home, closely followed by the more old-school Dr. Carter and Let The Beat Build, and topped by the more emotional Comfortable and Tie My Hands. The worst songs IMO are Mrs. Officer, La La, and You Ain't Got Nuthin. Mrs. Officer isn't too bad, but it isn't better than the hit singles (which I don't like the best but still like), being A Milli, Got Money, and Lollipop.

I didn't mention it because although I enjoy the tone and mood of the song plus the guitar samples and the chorus, it doesn't sit with me due to the random lyrics (which I did mention), e.g. "yeah now if you let me you wont regret me **** if you let me you wont forget me. remember and if you dont then ponder. hold up bahh bahh there's a reminder i aint kinda hot i'm sauna i sweat money and the bank is my shower haha and that pistol is my towel ha so stop sweatin me coward and i would die for ours ride for hours supply the flowers this is history in the making now shut the f**k up and let me make it."
Okay so we shouldn't forget him because he obviously is so good (sarcasm) and we should analyze his genious lyrics after he is gone because he is better than all of the rest (they all sound the same, like sheep). He isn't just hot, he is hot like a sauna (stupid similies riddle his rhymes).
This is where is gets random. How do you go from talking about how we shouldn't forget you when you are gone to talking about a shower? Say this is even a good metaphor. It isn't. If the shower is the bank and the sweat is money, the bank, like the shower, is cleaning his money. Okay, so the bank is taking his money (what else is new about society?), but I thought he is rich (Got Money)? If the bank isn't taking his money, then he is just losing his money, which happens to be in the bank. He then laughs, which is annoying that he would laugh at his own self-concieved cleverness, and says his pistol is his towel. A towel dries the water from the shower, removing evidence that one took a shower, and thus Lil' Wayne says he is going to cover up that he is bankrupt? If he isn't bankrupt, then someone is making him bankrupt and he is going to take out revenge upon them with violence? Some "coward" is sweating him (taking his money), but who? It can't be the listener because we are his source of income.
Next, he throws out another more random verse that only happens to rhyme with shower (ours, hours, and flowers). While this is a clever verse that makes sense on its own, it has no context with what he was just talking about, and there is no transition of thought. It is random! Of course he just has to end it with another boast and cusses just for mainstream appeal. What. The.

You're WRONG. Let me explain.The song is retrospective. From his Block is hot/Carter 1 days(V1) - Carter 2 days(V2) - Carter 3 days (V3).
That whole verse is about Block is hot/Carter 1 Wayne.
If you let him into the rap game you won't regret him, better yet you won't forget him. Remember? If you don't then ponder..hold up.."BAH BAH" (straight out the BAH BAH!(block but he annunciates it different) - block is hot. He's not hot, he's sauna....etc. You get that part and its not a bad metaphore at all you actually over analyized and gave no real case against it except your ( "so what?" arguement against it ).
Second part of that verse (about flowers/ours):
"and I would die for ours, ride for hours, supply the flowers.." - Ride or die for CMR and Wayne got married during this period of time to Antonia Carter which would explain the flowers.
If you knew more about wayne sometimes it will help you understand his lyrics.

Okay so say he is referring to his Carter days in retrospect. That has everything to do with the topic of the song. I never disagreed with that. What I did mention was how lame it was when he dropped some lines about showers and towels. Maybe I didn't hear the blahk blahk (which makes sense), and while the transition from retrospect to present day is more smooth with that reference, the showers and towels is random, as is the flowers. It doesn't matter what the flowers mean. The fact it has nothing to do with the rest of the lines is what makes Lil' Wayne random.

Sums it up nicely. Same can be said for Soulja boy and all that jazz. These rappers are successful at what they do and I don't think anybody should take that away from them. Are they good rappers though, haha no. I personally like all types of hip hop music. (And this next note is for you Kobe) I'll bump a couple 50 cent songs at parties only because lets face it, their catchy and people have a good time listening to it during parties. What i've come to understand is that usually when people are discussing about an artist or his songs in a thread discussion we as posters usually critique the song as an art piece. Thus we have an immediate bias towards those rappers that take the game very seriously and produce high quality tracks. (I personally love this aspect of the internet forums we have) In the end it's just our opinion. And the general opinion on this board is that Snap music sucks. LOL and I have to agree I personally don't like it. When its on its fun to make fun of and sing to cause its silly, but thats as far as it goes. I feel what your trying to say Goon, but I like people's opinions and their objections to certain music.(As long as it isn't fan boy sh*t) You guys are taking this TOO seriously :lol:

wow, it appears i have walked into a lil wayne jocking contest.....
look ive listened to a lot of hip hop so when i say i dont like an artist, it means that (and please remember this part) i really just do not like their music, now you can feel free to go ahead and spin this into being my fault for being close minded and all that nonsense, but deep down you know that your so called "knowledge" on hip hop is very poor at best. and the problem with getting into a rap and acting like you know the genre based on one rapper that you dickride, is that you end up just constantly yammering about one guy and then everyone calls you out on it. so please sally tone it down and go research some other much better hip hop artists cause you know that there is hundreds of them
This is the kind of all knowing dweeb I was talking about. First of all (in red) he says he just doesn't like the artist., FINE then this thread isn't for you. But then( in bold) goes on to insult my appreciation of what I consider good music and tells me to search hundreds of other artists. Why can't I just as easily as you don't appreciate what i listen to, have my opinion without you downing it?wow, it appears i have walked into a lil wayne jocking contest.....

take off ur lil wayne goggles and realize that (stay with me here) with the amount u dickride this one guy(i honestly dont care who it is) you could be out there finding more artists who you like just as much. i kno because ive been that kind of fanboy before and it gets you no where, a few years down the road you are going to get sick of his music and will realize all of the time you could have spent looking for other artists while u were jocking that 1 guy you thought just the bestest

you sound like some elitest dude who just can't let people enjoy what they like. we get it you don't like wayne but your saying likeing wayne as your favorite artist automatically amkes you uneducated in the ways hip-hop. What if your favorite rapper said wayne was the future and his favorite rapper, would he lose credibility?
i come from forums that are geared more towards golden age hip hop so it is kind of a knee jerk reaction to go on a rant to the lil wayne fanboys. sorry if i offeneded any of u.
this arguement is stupid anyway, i mean imo wayne just doesnt make good music, so when someone says he the best rapper, to me it seems like they are just biased and dont know what they are talking about.(not saying a little wayne fan cant know anything about hip hop cause they might know lots)
now if my fav rapper said lil wayne was god. guess what? it wouldnt matter because it doenst have anything to do with the music they make.
anyways none of this matters and u guys can have fun listening to lil wayne all u want, i'll stay stuck in the 90s and try not to be too elitist for u.

now if my fav rapper said lil wayne was god. guess what? it wouldnt matter because it doenst have anything to do with the music they make.
anyways none of this matters and u guys can have fun listening to lil wayne all u want, i'll stay stuck in the 90s and try not to be too elitist for u.

i'm just sayin. i'm not a huge wayne fan if a fan at all,but you do come off in an elitest way.
look the only reason i posted in this topic is becuase the guy who posted the OT started off with a good point by saying that hip hop doesnt have to have a message or be political (which i totally agree with). then it quickly turned into a "if u dont like lil wayne then ur some internet living elitist dweeb who can only listen to hip hop with a message in it and cant appreciate teh mainstream."
and thats when i began lil wayne hating rant because he is just one guy, he is not some end all be all of whether you like mainstream or underground er anything like that , so dont act like im some dude who is an internet living elitest becuase im not down with lil wayne. im just a hip hopper who loves hip hop.
