News posted a couple minutes ago on the Odd Future tumblr and twitter pages

http://twitter.com/ofwgkta/status/32241679603867649

It's only going to be Tyler the Creator and Hodgy Beats, but still, must watch TV. Most likely will be performing "French!".

edit: performing Sandwitches

 Oh god. I have to see this.

Jimmy Fallon gets a lot of **** because he's not really that funny, but when it comes to musical guests he usually has the best ones out of any of the late-night talk shows

I hope they do Sandwitches.

Also I wonder how the TV version of their music sounds.

Even if you hated them, I think you'd have to watch out of sheer curiosity, wouldn't you? lol

Just to let you guys know, Wale is now beefing with OF. He bascially called Tyler a women's private part and a failure over his twitter.

I can't post the image, but you can see it at OF's Facebook and Twitter.

I've never listened to these guys and this thread is making me all the more confident that I'm not missing anything. All the music I listen to is filled with profanity and, all the same, it's always easy to see how it could be changed up for a PG audience. Is this group seriously just shock value bs? I know alot of y'all were raised on Eminem ...

don't even bother checking them out, I already know you're going to rip them apart lol I haven't checked out enough of their stuff to really rate them but to put it simply if MF DOOM and Eminem had a baby this would be them. I don't know how to describe them any better then that

Only reason I think you might like them is you seem to appreciate music that is a good reflection of the artist. These guys do it in spades. Also, the profanity is like the least offensive part of this music ... like, these kids need parents lol

Quite the observation, Rob.  Both you and Andy make compelling arguments ... I might need to check them out for myself.  I heard one of these guys has some production from Jhawk, so at least that's good.

lol I really think that in all the years I've been posting here Rob is the first person to take a stab at figuring out the ideology behind what I listen to. Hell, I can't even explain it. I just find it amusing to see other people try lol.

yeah it has been glitchy on union boards lately.

If you get an error message after you post don't refresh the page because it'll make you double post. Just go to some other page.

ITI likes dudes that talk about real life, but have something worthwhile to talk about. i.e. Kid Cudi's drug issues ITI could care less about because the way he presents it isn't compelling. At the same time, The Jacka pushing coke is a good topic because the Jack does push coke, and its something that millions of people do to get by.

ITI also doesn't like music that's going to take time to get into. So non-rap music like experimental ish is just not up ITI's alley...also new genres are usually pegged by ITI as fads. He's a much bigger fan of music that's timeless...so ITI will take Folk over Freak Folk...Shoegaze over Tweegaze. It kind of runs with the idealogy of not liking stuff that's going to take time to get into...a new genre will take some time to get into...once it clicks, it clicks and sounds great but as all things that click after a while, it's hard to get back into them 6 months from now. You just never feel compelled to listen to it again, and the phase is over.

Also anything that mimics old times but doesn't add anything to it will be immediately written off, and rightfull so. So while everyone here is jumping up and down about say....a new Nas album that tries to mimic Illmatic but falls short like most of his tapes do, ITI won't feel it because its 90s east coast rappers doing what they alwyas do....living in the past, and doing something that was done better 15 years ago. This goes across most genres. ITI hates neo soul because it's mimics soul artists of the 60s/70s that did the genre more justice. ITI does however, like music like The-Dream...because when The-Dream came out, he did something that hadn't been done before. Fresh, new...will still being easily accessible and compelling. Right up ITI's alley.

I'm not being sarcastic in any of this...just calling it like I see it. Some of ITI's criticism's of music I completely agree with....others I don't.

Did I ever tell you about the time ITI took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally ITI takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half and sure enough someone constructs a bar around us. The day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. ITI yelled over the roar of the flames, "Always leave things the way you found 'em!"

They did way better than I thought they would. First off, hearing the Roots play a OF beat is a trip and a half. Second, Hodgey's second verse was ILL. Dude totally flipped it. Tyler's was dope too.

The dead girls on stage and Tyler yelling and rapping at them = Swag ...

Tyler running on the rest of the stage and set = Swag ...

Having the Jimmy Fallon crowd chant WOLF GANG = priceless

That performance was dope. Tyler and Hodge put it down and the Roots sounded amazing performing that beat live. I can't wait for them tour and come to Austin.
