id like dwayne wade over both but bron bron is youngerNetYankEagleI'd take Wade for K-Mart if the Heat were dumb enough to make that deal...not sure how he'd fit on our offense though, with Tyreke running the show. What we really need is a big time forward or center for down low.
Anyone reading the Tim Donaghy book? It's called Personal Foul. I just started and I can already tell it's gonna be a fairly quick read. Donaghy isn't that good of a writer though and he has some really annoying stylistic habits. I haven't gotten to the real interesting parts yet, but he has already set the stage about star treatment and how the refs and the NBA front office operate under different rules.fat_robbill simmons the big book of basketball. only thing im reading
The Kings were down by 35 points and came back to beat the Bulls.... Orlando_Magic8)
Sac-town, stay down 8) lol, my boys are putting together a good season. Ime Udoka seems to have put on a show in the 3rd quarter....I need to start streaming more games on justin.tv.Â

Vinny Del Negro needs to be fired yesterday. There's no ****ing way this should ever happen.
i want to see gob with the final countdown now!!!BIG props to your Kings, Colt. I was watching that game, and was laughing at how much of a blow out it was, and then was basically in awe when they owned, especially in those last few minutes. crazy stuff...elpoozhey we're only a game under .500 now 8) This team has overblown my expectations thanks to Tyreke...we still need one more piece, and experience to be a contender though.
 - Jason Thompson has really come along putting together 15/9 in his second season
 - Tyreke Evans is a monster putting up 20/5/5 in his rookie season
 - Omri Casspi has been a huge surprise (though not to many Kings fans--he looked great in the summer league) putting up 11.5 points, and shooting some great percentages
 - Beno Udrih has been lights out as a 6th man with 14/4 off the bench (and Sergio Rodriguez has been solid)
What I'm really looking forward to is how the team plays when Garcia and Martin return. These guys were supposed to be the future of our team, with Garcia as the 6th man, and Martin as the top shooter. Thing is, Garcia's spot has been overrun with Nocioni/Donte Greene (whom is the young talent we got in the Artest trade; has shown flashes, but not enough.) I'm really concerned with whether or not Garcia is even necessary at this point...I may rather have Nocioni, Casspi and Greene handling the position than Garcia. Maybe trade Nocioni for a center, and move Garcia back into the line up? Nocioni does chuck the ball up quite a bit, but losing him hurts our defense.
As for Martin, I don't see a problem with transtitioning him back into the line up. I honestly believe Martin will go back into the Reggie Miller/spot up shooter/high percentage shot role with ease, and let Tyreke take over. If that's the case, then our offense should be explosive (hell, as if it isn't already.) Imagine another consistent 20 points on this team, with Tyreke handling the point, Casspi/Greene/Nocioni/Garcia handling the back up 2, and the 3 spot, JT at the four, and Hawes at the 5.Â
PG - Tyreke/Beno/Sergio Rodriguez
SG - K-Mart/Garcia/Greene
SF - Casspi/Nocioni/Greene
PF - JT/Jon BROCKman
C - Hawes/Sean May?
Man, we need to do something with this front court bad. Jon Brockman's got the potential to be a solid back PF, and I'm content with JT at the four, but we really need Hawes to step it up...and we need a good back up center, or hell even a starter. Someone like Sam Dalembert would fit this team like a glove...what's good with that Nocioni for Dalembert trade? lam.
eh, here's a review of that Donaghy book I wrote on Amazon, figured I'd post it here:
On the cover of Tim Donaghy's book Person Foul is a quote from the sports blog Deadspin.com, "The book the NBA doesn't want you to read . . ." I think in a rare act of altruism, the NBA and David Stern were trying to save readers some frustration. Personal Foul should have been much better. The story has all the elements of a classic, but stylistic fumbles and boring narratives drag down the book and turns reading into a laborious task.
          Â
I found myself struggling through Personal Foul, at times even wanting to stop reading the book entirely. Throughout the book, Donaghy continually lambastes himself and his gambling habit. Considering that his choice to gamble on NBA games destroyed his life, it should come as no surprise that Donaghy refers to his gambling actions as sins and outright wrongs. But Tim misses a chance for a deeper reflection on the issue of gambling, something that is labeled a wrong in society, yet is practiced by nearly every member of it. Almost all of Donaghy's fellow referees engaged in some form of gambling, it was pervasive at his country club, and no matter what city Donaghy traveled to, a casino was only a short drive away. The notion that gambling is an inherent evil needed more examination considering the pervasiveness of gambling in society. Donaghy's choice to lie to his co-workers and family is obviously wrong, but an opportunity to examine gambling as an ill of society was, in my opinion, missed.
          Â
Donaghy's choice to scrutinize himself has a stylistic effect on the book. We get it Tim you screwed up! Â Can we move on to another theme now? Donaghy's self-loathing is often unreflective and tiresome and when mixed with other odd stylistic habits, it becomes a chore to read Personal Foul. The only thing that kept me reading is the magnitude of the story and the tantalizing information Donaghy provides about how favoritism affects NBA officiating.
          Â
The parts of the book that pertain exclusively to the inner workings of NBA are a joy to read for any sports fan. Donaghy confirms suspicions many people have harbored for years. Donaghy's narrative about the Mavs-Heat finals in 2006 is especially telling and it really does seem that Dwayne Wade deserves his D-Whistle knick name. It is worth it for any fan of the NBA to read this book, simply for the sections that discuss the NBA and the relationships between players, owners, supervisors, coaches, and referees.
          Â
I would be dishonest if I did not admit that Personal Foul starts as a chore, but evolves into a page-turner. After the FBI fingers Donaghy, Personal Foul begins to become a pleasure to read. The chapter on Donaghy's time in jail is probably my favorite and it does a fabulous illustrating the regret Donaghy tries to display throughout the whole book.
          Â
Overall, I would recommend Personal Foul for people who love sports, the NBA, or watch ESPN religiously. Donaghy wrote a decent book, but many parts of Personal Foul left me felling unsatisfied. Â Â Â Â

the 60 minutes interview does a decent job, just watch that if you haven't already. I know Mark Smith would flip his wig if he read the section on the 2006 Finals. I don't think the Mavs are ever gonna win a championship with Cuban at the helm, everyone in the NBA hates him . . .fat_roblol mark smith would flip his wig if he heard anything about the NBA cheating his precious Mavs out of anything. I wonder if Cuban has read this book.
