The only time I ever go to OnSmash is to watch music videos and I never go to rapgodfathers. These websites being shutdown doesn't really bother me I guess.
I never went to those sites that often but the crackdown is a bit worrying. They claim that they were going after them for piracy but neither of them really posted that kind of material. The best you could get from them was a streamed version of a new single (which were sanctioned by the artists themselves to be put out for free unless your name is Lupe Fiasco) or free mixtape links. With that kind of precedent I could see them going after sites that I do uses like 2DBz and other fully legal blog sites. Besides if they really want to go after piracy they are going after the wrong sites.
Not fake, the DHS/ICE disclaimer is still on the webpages. I never visited these sites, but the rational can be used to shut down sites I visit near everyday
i don't understand this....everything that these sites post are sent directly to them from either the artists themselves or somebody who directly represents the artists. it's not piracy at all HipHopDX, on the other hand, posts unfinished leaked songs from major label artists and they're still up and running :?

They dont provide download links to the songs
^^^^ bingo, plus rgf posted pirated/leaked albums for a good while. I stopped peeping the site, but they had plenty of illegal material back in the day.
