Ice Cube Unleashes Diss Track Aimed At Kanye West, Lil Wayne & The New West "Drink The Kool Aid". Performs New Single "I Rep That West" At Paid Dues Festival [2 Videos]

http://www.thisis50.com/profiles/blogs/ice-cube-unleashes-diss-track

Ice Cube is gearing up to release his new album 'I Am The West' on July 13 and he's coming straight at your favorite rapper's heads!

He unleashed two new tracks at the Paid Dues Festival in San Bernardino, California Friday (April 3), Don Mega performed his brand new single "I Rep That West". In it he disses Lil Wayne.
Then he got serious on another new track titled "Drink The Kool Aid". Cube goes at Kanye West, Lil Wayne (again) and The New West. "I heard there's a New West Coast, I aint heard it!"
He's sending mad subliminal shots on the track as well. I could speculate , but it's best you hear it and make your own judgement.

Hmmm, I love Cube's music as much as the next guy, but unnecessarily going after newer artists is a bit lame.

Dudes like Kanye and Wayne (as much as I dislike the guy) aren't even the worst in the game. Why isn't he going at Soulja Boy, Bow Wow etc?

You really think that?  I just think it's utterly pointless to take shots at artists that have made some of this decades finest music (College Dropout and some would argue Dedication 2/Carter 2 or 3/Da Drought is Over 2 etc)

Yeah I kind of agree. I don't even see reason for Cube to diss them really...Either way, I'm anticipating his new album and I'd like to see how Yeezy or Weezy will respond

"I Rep The West" was weak, but I guess everybody needs to make a stupid club track to please record labels.

"Drink the Kool Aid" was okay, sounded cooler in theory. But as for all this talk about why didn't he go after Bow Wow and Soulja Boy is stupid. #1 Everyone has already gone after them, why should he too? #2 They aren't nearly was relevant as Wayne and Kayne. Also I find it odd how the West coast always hates are the west.

I think Ice Cube choose the right artists to diss. I mean Soulja Boy is just a kid, and it's almost like Ice Cube would go and diss Justin Bieber and that would've been really lame. In my humble opinion, Kanye West & Lil'Wayne are wack, and sellouts deserves to be dissed.

*EDIT* and speaking of which, Ice T took care of Soulja Boy so it's all good.

Cube in a way is the definition of sell out, though I'm not one to get my panties up in a bunch over that sort of thing.

West Coast rap veteran Ice Cube has denied that his "Don't Drink The Kool-Aid" song was a subliminal diss directed at Dr. Dre, Kanye West, Eminem and more.

Although he claims no one was being dissed, Cube said Dre personally approached him about a reference on the track.

"He asked me did I diss him during the Paid Dues Show last Saturday. I did one of my new songs called "Drink The Kool-Aid" which got everybody thinking I'm dissing the whole industry...lol "You internet roaches..." I told Dre that I'd never diss the man that got me started. Here are the lyric to Drink The Kool-Aid for everybody who understand ****and grace in hip-hop...check the lyrics...No disses. Just ****and grace." (Ice Cube's Blog)
