[QUOTE="gamr92"][QUOTE="elpooz"][QUOTE="gamr92"][QUOTE="elpooz"]Biggie is mad overrated and gets way too much respect. He put out two albums, a classic and a above-average one, and everyone is on his balls. That never made much sense to me. I'd still put him over most dead rappers though. Only Pac and Big L would go before him.Â

thats prolly why so many people respect and praise the guy. :|
Plenty of other rappers have dropped classics, but still don't get the respect he does. Big L's Lifestylez was easily a classic, and is considered better than R2D by quite a few people, but he gets way less respect than Biggie.Â
He has so many dickriders because of how he died, and his beef with Pac. The whole East Coast vs West Coast thing added a lot of publicity to his death.
Yeah, but Big L never made a transition into the mainstream, like Biggie. So of course he would earn more respect. He could make a lyrically solid album, and still sell impressively well.
Big L was mainstream :|. He had Jay on his debut album, was doing songs with KGR, Kane, and other big artists for his second album before he died, and was planned to sign with Roc-A-Fella. You don't even know your ****... gtfo.
He was nowhere near as mainstream as Biggie. Biggie's second album appealed more to the white audience, while he still showed lyrical skill. Which is why he could sell more. Big L never had a shiny suit or a corny ass hook in any of his songs dun.Â
