Wu-Tang as a group or solo material too?

For Mos Def I highly recommend Black On Both Sides. Solid album.

My favourite tracks are probably

Hip Hop, Ms Fat Booty, Speed Law, Mr. N**** and Mathematics.

For Wu-Tang if you want mad lyrical content then obviously GZA's Liquid Swords. RZA's production has so much character and goes so well with the lyrics.

My favourite tracks are

Duel of the Iron Mic, Living In the World Today, Gold, Cold World, Shadowboxin', Swordsman and I Gotcha Back.

But seriously you should just cop both of the albums ASAP. ;)

36 Chambers, Wu-Tang Forever, Uncontrolled Substance, Cuban Linx, Ironman, Supreme Clientele, Put it On the Line, Fishscale, Liquid Swords, Beneath the Surface, Legend of the Liquid Sword, Grandmasters, No Said Date, Return to the 36 Chambers

How can Hip Hop be dead if Wu-Tang is forever?

just get Wu-Tangs 36 Chambers and Mos Def's Black on Both Sides.

Both are great albums and will give you a pretty good impression of the group/artist.

Not really in the case of Mos Def. His other material (aside from Blackstar) is much different (and much worse) than BoBS.

If you want the Wu as a group, get 36 Chambers. The best Wu solo albums IMO are GZA's Liuid Swords and Raekwons Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.

For Mos, get Black on Both Sides. Great album, but has some boring spots imo. You could also check out the Black Star album if you haven't already.
