So, ummmm, intelligent Christian here:Â Where are your questions?
And don't expect me to go to that loser's amazing atheist site or whatever it is. People have been trying to debunk Christianity for as long as it's been around. And I'll lay odds on Sts. Augustine, Aquinas, Anselm and Thomas More being slightly more intelligent than the likes of me, you AND the amazing atheist.
Catholics FTW.
This is a great video because it forces Christians to make all sorts of ridiculous rationalizations for their all-knowing, all-powerful god, like "god works in mysterious ways". To anybody that really thinks about these questions and can still believe in a god, I ask "what emotional need do you have that causes you to delude yourself?", "does the truth scare you?".espoac
Perhaps the Way, the Truth and the Light scares you. What emotional need do you have that causes you to deny others' beliefs?

because religion hurts humanity as a whole....
It's silly and any rational human being would understand that there is no god.....Most christians are raised that way and christianity makes complete sense to them.....it's sad but actually true

What do you mean when you say that religion has hurt the world as a who;e? Because some wars begin due to religious conflict? I suggest you actually try to think about that question before you answer it. Simply becase people say it is a religious war does not mean that God (or the deity in question if one is not Christian or Muslim) supports the war. Any rational human being? Are you saying all religious people are irrational? Is this why there are Ph.D graduates with a specialization in theology? Would you consider them irrational too? What questions...craig828
Precisely. Thank God the atheists are this "smart," or believers would have real trouble.

See, what you are doing is what is called a "fallacy", or an error in logic. 'Religious' wars are never actually 'religious'. Religions will never be any better than their followers and if their followers are idiots then the religion is idiotic....can you see my point? If the pope were to say that africa was to be destroyed then there obviously is a major error in that religion when it has that many followers.....
Christianity is nothing but a shell of what it once was.......It's nothing like Jesus (yes he existed) imagined it......the bible is ridicolous since its context was chosen by greedy priests who chose the context that would benefit them the most....
Your belief in god is delusional. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVuw1wEuaAQXgamer82What now? You seem to think that posting videos by the same author who, in the first video, assured us Christians that we would start thinking about becoming atheists because of an unresearched video he put up on Youtube. 9 minutes and 58 seconds is not nearly enough to make me realize that my belief in God is delusional. I would pose this question to the maker of the video, employing his own device for arguments. Do you believe in evolution? I assume he does. Can you see evolution happening? No, but you READ ABOUT IT. Don't you read about Christianity? But Christians practice Christianity. In this way, isn't Christianity more real than evolution, as we can see it happening? Of course, I WOULD NEVER employ such petty techniques for argument, because they are filled with fallacies.

I deny such beliefs because religion is extremly harmful to humanity. That's why it's important to me. People kill and discriminate in the name of their god. Plain and simple. If this wasn't true I could care less about what people believe in.I deny such beliefs because religion is extremly harmful to humanity. That's why it's important to me. I'm far from religieus. God's word can give a believer strength trough hard time, true. But why do believers seem to be unable to accept a lot of people just because they are a little different? For example, Gay people, people from another culture, people with another skin color, people with other beliefs... The church actually condemns everyone that don't believe what they believe. Also explain me why priests cannot have a woman or can't fall in love? Because they love god??? Seriously explain me, it's just something I dont understand. This might be a funny thing to ask...: If god created the universe... who created god? Where did he come from? another thing: Do you know how many innocent people have been killed in the name of God? Do you know how much of a better place the world would be without religions? You can believe me or not, but I went to a Christian school, I know about the passages in the bible, I know what it contains. But do you know they rejected 5 black students, because it's a Christian school? The funny thing was : They WERE Christians. they just were rejected because of the different skin color. Anyway... if believing in God makes you feel better in your skin, I will respect that.Sensui1986
Hmm....for someone who went to a Christian school you see to have rudimental ideas about what Christianity means. Wars and hate occur because of human nature. Whatever reason is given it's because of mankind. FYI...true Christianity does mean you accept and love all people.

I do find it irritating that people misrepresent Christians and their beliefs and then label all of us the same way. Everyone knows that the Bible teaches love and putting your fellow man's well-being on the same level as your own. So when a "believer" does something that goes against this, people act like that's what Christianity is about.
The who created God question has been asked millions of times on these boards, same as what happend before the "Big Bang" question. Bottomline: human knowledge is limited, we can only believe things that are beyond our knowlege.
The church believes certain behaviors enslave people's lives and separate them from God but nothing is beyond forgiveness. They welcome people but encourage change.
First off, I'd like to state that I'm quoting Drucom because he was nice enough to post these questions. I am responding to the questions, not to Drucom.
What is the truth, to you? Is there evidence that God exists?drucomYes. If super-atheist had ever gone to college, he would have learned any number of theories on the existence of God, including the Ontological Argument. Don't expect me to teach atheists at no cost. They can go to school and pay for it like everyone else.
Â
Question 2: Why are there so many people starving in the world? + 6: Why do bad things happen to good people? + Question 10: Why do Christians get divorced at the same rate as non-Christians??drucomThis is easy. It's another philosophical concept called the Problem of Evil. Again, I'm not going to teach you it, just letting you know.
Â
Question 4: Why does the Bible contain so much anti-scientific nonsense???drucom Like Drucom said, how are you going to prove or disprove any of this?
Â
Question 5: Why is God such a huge proponent of slavery???drucom I get the feeling this guy is just reaching. The Jews were enslaved while in exile. Did God want this? No. See: Problem of Evil.
Â
Question 7: Why didn't any of Jesus' miracles in the Bible leave any evidence???drucom Two millenia is a long time for physical evidence to remain. Sorry that the fathers of the church didn't rush those relics into hyperbaric chambers. Oh, that's right, they didn't exist.
Â
Question 8: How do we explain the fact that Jesus has never appeared to you???drucom This is silly. It's a matter of faith.
Â
Question 9: Why would Jesus want you to eat His body and drink His blood???drucom I don't know. Ask Him. I happen to be one of the people who takes this literally. And even if you take it as symbolic, well, it's still a silly question. It's an article of faith yet again.
To summarize: Go to school and get an education, naysayers. If you don't believe, you'll at least have an idea of why some people believe and why their position is no less valid than anyone else's.

I am not a true Catholic in the sense that I was taught and believe that the Eucharist I recieved were only symbols of his blood and of his flesh. It's part of the Catholic Church's practices that, to be a definity Catholic, you have to literally believe that they are truly his flesh and blood. In this sense, I am not a true Catholic. I still do believe in God and I often thank him for many of the things that happen in my life. BranKetra, you mispelled 'CAIN'. If you can't even spell his name right, what credibility do you have? BTW ACESandEIGHTS FTW, man. You know your stuff. These days, being religious is HARDER than being atheist. Please Log In to post.
