Why do people just conclude it was heaven and not just a hallucination? Why is the most outlandish explanation the first thing they jump to? The kid might not know better... but adults should.foxhound_foxHeh... I agree... yet even someone who believes that he had a supernatural experience shouldn't necessarily believe it was heaven. I think the reason is essentially that this is all an exercise in wishful thinking, so it might as well be culture-bound wishful thinking.

The question that we should be asking is not whatever or not he's having hallucination. Rather is he telling the truth or not. People will do anything to get publicity these days.

Jesus was from Nazareth, Akkadians were Semitic too... does that also make them Arab? Ancient Akkadians descended from even more ancient Sumerians (although a period of co-existance was there), who ultimatetly migrated to the fertile crescent from some regions of Africa, in theory. Not arguing with you, just further regressing the timeline to add to your underlying point. Personally I never understood why religious people think that a divine figure would have a REAL race, and not a mutable and meaningless appearance. One thing is for sure however... any historical Jesus would have been ridiculously short by modern standards.

Ahhhh, yes, the resonance era... that took place after the the "gong being struck with a mallet" era, right? :) JK... yes, the modern image of Jesus has evolved with people's expectations, and largely set during the renaissance.

Oh, no, I definitely do not endorse the Arabic Jesus notion. I'm just saying being Semitic did not exclude him from being Arab.

Reminds me the Balloon Boy named "Falcon."
So, how would anyone know that what they saw wasn't just an illusion like dreams? Or hallucination? And how exactly would they know its heaven they were looking at and not some random place? I guess it could be a heaven in his eyes... Its nice that people would take an heavily sedated/drugged 11 year old boy (During the operation, where he must've had this experience) seriously though. Must be cute...tocool340I would say... yeah, that's the thread right there.

He was Jewish though.,,,, You realize that Judaism originated in the Middle East right? All of the original founders of Judaism were of what we now call "Arab" decent. There is no substantial proof, bit it is about 99% likely that Jesus was indeed "Arab".[QUOTE="SquirrelTamer"][QUOTE="Victorious_Fize"]He was Jewish though.,,,, You realize that Judaism originated in the Middle East right? You make it sounds like everyone from the middle east was/is Arab. Arabs hardly existed as an ethnic group then and most lived in the Saudi Arabia area. Jesus belonged to the Jewish people which is a distinct ethnic group living in Israel. And the founders of Judaism also belonged to the Jewish ethnic group.Arabs are Semitic...

Bull.
Israelites were not Arab, goddamn it. Arabs are the descendants of Ishmael, not Isaac. Doesn't matter if they're a cousin ethnicity or whatnot, they're not the same thing. Not everyone in the Middle East or from the Middle East is/was Arab. There were Canaanites, Amorites, Philistines, Sumerians, Akkadians, and a hell lot of other ethnic groups. Jews (or Israelites) are one of the many Middle Eastern ethnic groups that existed then (and now), just like Arabs. What you're saying is akin to insisting that everyone from Scandinavia is automatically Swedish.

Well, we are a little bit deserving of such criticism :P. With the daily religion and politic threads, it's of no surprise! We're almost as bad as those dirty system wars folk.

I'm sure you'd be just a credulous if he claimed to have seen Narnia, right? :)Certainly possible. Who are we to say what he saw or didn't.

You are right, the ethnic groups of 2 millenia ago were not the same, however the general races were the same. Like I said, if Jesus was alive right now, there is a 99% chance that he would LOOK like a modern Arab individual.jesus was not arab , his mother the virgin marry was a hebrew ( sons of israel ) , according to islam he has no father , according to christianity his father is G-D so how could he be arab ? so he is not a son of israel but what does that make him ? he's jesus so stop arguing about it .
so about his appearance , prophet muhammed was asked to describe jesus christ , here's what you find in wikipedia :
Based upon several Hadith narrations of Muhammad, Jesus can be physically described thus (with any differences in Jesus' physical description being due to Muhammad describing him when seeing him at different occasions, such as in a dream, during his ascension to Heaven, or when describing Jesus during Jesus' second coming):[35] A well-built man of medium/moderate/average height and stature with a broad chest. Straight, lank, slightly curly, long hair that fell between his shoulders. A moderate, fair complexion of red or finest brown. Of all the men, he had the nearest resemblance with 'Urwa ibn Mas'ud al-Thaqafi.
