Not true. I love drinking, but I never get drunk. I love getting a buzz and letting the alcohol calm me down. Alcohol, for whatever reason, has an INCREDIBLE mellowing effect on me.

I remember when I was that young, i used to take my mom's ride out for some joyriding, till one night I got caught up. Luckily I never drank before driving(still dont), but my Mom was still VERY pissed.

So, I can only imagine how she felt about her parents finding out.

All the guy did was drink ONCE (and not even enough to get DRUNK) and his "friends" stopped talking to him for months? If you honestly think they did that to help him, and not just because they thought he was a liability to their image, then I've got a bridge to sell you.

I believe it's a lot better than them shrugging it off and acting as if nothing wrong.

Not saying that they SHOULD have kept on talking to him, and I'm not saying that they SHOULD be his friends. If I don't want you as a friend, I'm not going to treat you like a friend and that's all there is to it. It's just sad to watch someone being completely oblivious to how others see him.

That's a good point but it obviously worked, maybe they knew it would? Maybe if he asked his friends to help him get through the process of avoiding drugs, they would've helped. It's tough to know. Personally, I preffer that kind of tough love over people who ignore the drug abuse just to seem more compassionate or friendly.
