glucose also occurs naturally in your body; that doesn't make it a good thing to consume in a beverage, though. if the taurine is highly concentrated, then it can be toxic. but i guess i'm just kinda biased against energy drinks. i'm no biology expert.

yeah i've been looking around too. it doesn't seem as bad as i thought. i still don't think it should be consumed in mass quantities, as anything like that can be toxic. like these multivitamins that have 1000% vitamin c in one serving. over time it could do some real damage.

That would make sense, but not the case. I work 14+ hour shifts as an MP, and drink over a case a day (4 cans) couples with 2 large espressos. Unhealthy, yes. Deadly, no.

All I can find is that taurine can be a skin irritant. It has no current bad effects. But as said, too much of any thing is bad. Although energy drinks are fine.

I am no biologist, but too much vitamin c does not sound like a bad thing. If you really want energy, though, drink a lot of water.

Your body is 90% water. Does drinking water give you a lift like several cups of coffee? Nope. However, staying hydrated over time will boost your bodie's performance. Why do athletes drink a ton of water? Because water is the first thing you lose from sweat.

Ever heard of Red Rain? Holy ****! It came in, like a 755 or something mL can. But on the back it said do not consume more than 500mL in one 24 hour time period. I read that after I drank it all. I was up for awhile

Not really.... Red Bull is nothing compared to taking an ephedrine pill (LEGAL, they are sold next to stackers at truck stops and crap) with a coffee...LOL That will keep you up for a day....

I just drink the 8oz sugar free ones... They've gotten too expensive, but every other sugar free drink tastes like crap, except Pepsi Max, that stuff is amazing.

I don't like any energy drinks, they are expensive and don't taste good. The sugar rush just leads to a crash and caffine really doesn't give me much of a boost.

I have no use for red bull...unless there is a shot of Jager in the vicinity.

The way I see it, an energy drink every now and then will not hurt you if you just need a good "pick me up." I do not think they are good to drink everyday though.
