Therefore she must cease to exist? The simple point I'm making is that Reema is not exclusive to muslims. In fact, a simple google of the name will bring you a wikipedia page listing all of the famous Reemas of the world - of which there are about a dozen - and not one of them is an arab.

Still very much an assumption. The hijab is just as much cultural as it is religious. There are plenty of atheists who still wear headscarfs. There are also plenty of hindu women who wear headscarfs and other similar garments. Is she probably a muslim? Sure. Does the article make any reference to muslims or any religion whatsoever? None. So why has OP shoehorned it into his headline? Just sayin'. Think he's trying to make something more controversial than it is.

My name is fully Arabic as is my entire family and I am not an Arab. Over here ramzan is a popular second name for south Asians and I have never met an Arabic reema only bangali ones. If you care to go on the facebook page dedicated to her you will see it majorly occupied by south Asians which is unsurprising since she looks south Asian. Anyway I may be wrong but she definitely doesnt look arabic to me.

I neither noticed nor started this whole pedantic argument. She is muslim, that much is true. Whether or not it was a hate crime, we don't know.

Arabic names are pretty common in Muslim nations, so comes to no surpise if she is non-arab and has an arabic name.
