If you were to enter a shop and see a certain product on sale (foodstuffs usually), would you rather they had a buy-one-get-one-free or 50% off the original price?

I'm greedy, so I'd have to choose BOGOF.

50% off, because then I only buy one.

Plus, it's equal or lesser value when it's buy one get one free for things like shoes.

50% off I'd say. Usually I see "Buy two, get the third one free!" as if that will really entice me.

Depends on the product.

Those going for breast agmentation should really go for the buy one get one free.

Going for the 50% off is a sin against man and god.

50% off. It allows me to choose if I want to buy one at half price, or two at BOGOF. The best of both worlds.

It all depends on the product. if it's shoes and I buy one and get the other free then I'm cool. If I see a pair of shoes I want and they're 50% off then I'm good there too.

most of the time, 50% off. For more expensive things, and harder to find at stores things (Like shoes for me, wide foot, plus a bigger size), BOGOF is better, but mostly 50% off

Depends on what the item is and if I know the stock before hand. If I can get 2 games for $60 I'd sooner take that than a single $40 game that was at some point $80.

Depends. Like if the product is like a bag of chips or soda something then I would get two. Even if products are long lasting things which I will need to buy later I would buy 2. But if its something of which I only need one like books or electronics, I would go for50%

It is ESSENTIAL to look at the prices of the items and find the not-on-sale price of them as well. For example, when my family buys chicken breasts, we buy them at a place where they often go on buy one get one free. The boxes are USUALLY about $24 for one. Sometimes the B1G1 price will stay at $24 for one, second one is free. That makes each box about $12. However, when they offer you a freebie at some stores, they often jack up the price to a ridiculous amount. Sometimes this store puts each box at $36 when it goes on B1G1, that makes each box cost about $18. So while still sort of a deal, it's not really. They do this with stuff like shaving cream and deodorant too. I've seen deodorants go up to $6 when they're regularly $3, so basically a buy one get one free sale there would have you paying regular price anyway. You MUST check this out before buying or you're essentially being roped in by the false good deal bs. Being "greedy" sometimes really screws you. Similarly though, if you're looking at shoes, many are discounted already and the store is having a B1G1 sale and will allow you to combine discount/clearance with the B1G1 offer. You could easily get 2 pairs of shoes for 20 bucks in that case. It all really boils down to looking at the numbers. Keep in mind that stores WILL trick you and screw you whenever they can. Be vigilant and know your prices.

I sometimes buy BOGO stuff at my grocery store and only buy one item of them as they typically cut the price in half and split the cost between the 2 units so it is equal to 50% off anyway. In other cases, I would rather have 50% off if not at the grocery store.

As I'm sure many people have said, this is the same thing. But not quite. Yes, BOGOF is essentially 50% off, but that's if you buy 2. If I only want one, then I get it at half off and if I choose 2, it's still BOGOF at the original price. So, semantically, they sound the same and psychologically, with the word free in it, it sounds better off hand, but 50% is better. Also, things like 1.99 make you think it's cheaper than $2 and 2 for $5 or 4 for $10, where buying 2 sounds better. They're little psychological marketing gimmicks that play on lower prices or the words free and also play on perception differences.

50% off because I hate spending money so it takes a bargain for me to spend it. Wait. I'll choose 2 for 1 since I'm less likely to spend full price for one thing. Then I save money. Profit!

Would it matter lol really? 50% is better because your not force to buy extra one if you don't want. If your going get 2 either way it will equal out same price

50% off since I don't usually buy two items when I go out shopping.
