I just woke up at 1:56 AM and haven't ate anything for the day. I feel thirsty but theres just the 2 liters of pepsi in the fridge and i feel drinking all of it. Can't go to a store at this time theres also a water bottle in the fridge. But since i am in Syria temporarly the water even bottled isn't filtered well, last time i drank that water it gave me big stomach aches and diarhea. I know Pepsi and a whole 2 liters of it is obviously ain't a healthy choice. I know this is sort of a question i should've asked on Yahoo Answers but mostly you get moronful answers there. So i am asking you guys, by your best guess, knowledge and expirience how exactly bad is it going to be if i drink a whole 2 liter load of Pepsi? An any kind of a suggestion that could change my mind on this sodaholic attempt will do.

well its not going to kill you if that's what your getting at lol. It isn't necessarily the healthiest thing in the world to do though. Youll probably just feel bloated afterwards if you drink it all at once. No long term side effects though if its not an everyday thing.

It's not going to hurt you but it's not the most healthy thing to do. You'll probably have a wicked sugar crash also.

I drink two liters all the time, mainly when I order pizza, because that is all the local pizza hut has. I am sure it is bad, but IDC. Diabetes FTW!

I've actually done something similar before. I conusumed close to an entire 2 liter Pepsi bottle before, in a small timeframe. You'll experience quite the sugar rush, and your kidneys won't like you afterwards. I got home that day and went to the bathroom an extra least 5 or 6 times. But you should be okay after you get it all out of your system.

I could drink four liters of Pepsi in a day's time (not at once). I don't, but I could.

Wrong x2. Nothing will come out of this in the short term. In fact, you could do it for days with no effects to show for it. So full speed ahead on the pepsi drinkage.

If all you can drink is a caffeinated beverage, you'll become dehydrated. Caffeine is a diuretic, and the general rule is that to replace 1 serving of coffee/soda worth of fluid, you need to drink the same volume of a non-caffeineated fluid. That however, would only be an issue if you had NOTHING else to drink for quite a long time. In theory you could drink nothing except Pepsi for... and I'm ballparking here... months. You might even get away with not eating anything during that period if you're a bit on the heavy side, although you'd develop Pellagra and some other nasty issues.

In short, one day with 2 liters of soda is nothing. If you do this once a week, you're not going to experience some obvious negative reaction, but from a nutritional and dental standpoint that is a ****-load of soda to drink in one day.

It's not bad, but it'll always leave you feeling thirsty since soda doesn't hydrate you. It does the opposite.

It`s not a healthy choice, but as long as you don`t make it a regular thing it`s not that bad. Also, you can boil water to help clean it, you know that right?

If it's just once it doesn't matter. I wouldn't even say it's unhealthy if it's only once since only one time of doing this can't have any effect on your health. Now if you drink 2 liters of Pepsi ever day, then you've got a problem (that problem most likely being diabeetus).

You'll get a stomach ache since soda is full of acid. But you won't die because of it.

So long as out does not become habitual, its fine... especially if your only other alternative is sickness-inducing water. It won't hydrate that well, but it will be better than nothing.

carbohydrates digest and broke down, they are then converted into glucose. If you don't need the glucose they're stored in your liver as glycogen(excess glucose) glycogen storage is also temporary most excess glucose is going to be stored as fat.

What's that disorder people get when they have trouble digesting large amounts of glycogen? Diabetes, which will co-exist with obesity because the chances are if you have diabetes(2) you don't eat properly.

No matter how hard you try you can't defend drinking a two liter Coke daily and be fine. I just simply wrote the process of the body digesting carbs(sugars) wrong.

Soda is indeed full of acid... fortunately so is your stomach. :P If you have indigestian from drinking soda, it's unlikely to be the acid content, but rather the action of carbonation, sheer volume of fluid, flavorants, etc. Still, this thread would be awesome if a mod had just answered, "Get your affairs in order" as the first response, then locked the thread! :D

No offense, but that's a terrible description of diabetes, and it ignores the issue of genetic predisposition. Remember, at its heart Diabetes is a Glycogen Storage Disorder which can actually swing in the direction of excess storage OR depletion.

One caveat with what you say. Muscles have glycogen stores too, not just your liver. And your muscles hold a hell of a lot more than your liver does. You have to be massively carb loading for days on end without burning anything to come close to topping out muscle glycogen. Plus fat storage will only occur in a calorie surplus. Your body will not store fat in a caloric deficit. Two liter soda=800 calories=not fattening in the least by itself.

Considering most convenient stores sell soda by the 32 oz. and large amounts of people drink that almost every day, I'd say drinking 64 oz just this once probably isn't all that terrible for you.
