It's hard to say. Black Mountain's "In The Future" has been leading all year, but of Montreal's "Skeletal lamping" is close, as are Wolf parade "At Mount Zoomer", TV on the Radio "Dear, Science", Shearwater "Rook", Bon Iver "For Emma, Forever Ago", Okkervil River "The Stand-Ins", Fleet Foxes "Fleet Foxes", M83 "Saturdays = Youth", among others.

It's been a pretty great year for music. Not nearly as good as last year, which was legendary IMHO, but better than average.

You shouldn't, Disturbed is far from good.

For me it's Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder by Cradle Of Filth.

Amon-Amarth

It's been a long time since I listened to CoF. I though they went downhill after 'Damnation and a Day' but gotta admit that this album is a somewhat pleasant surprise.

In terms of consistency and Replay Value, I'll give to Ne-Yo's Year of the Gentleman. It was dope when I first heard it when it came out and it's been still good to listen to.. I'm bumpin it right now and it still sounds as good as it did when it released..

Honestly I think it will be Chinese Democracy

not because I am a GnR fan but because it has been 14 years since there has been a guns n roses album

and the fact that they are back....excuse me  Axl is back would justify it not to mention the album is pretty good

The Sound of Madness by Shinedown

This album is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish and every song is quite varied with deep lyrics.
Big_player

I'd have to agree with this, I love Shinedown.

So bad that it reverts to the top of the scale and becomes good?

Opeth's Watershed despite it being a more confusing entry for listeners to grasp (once you do it's just as good as the others, and miles beyond Ghost Reveries).  Bloodbath's The Fathomless Mastery is up there too.

I forgot about another gem this year:

Alopecia by Why?

http://toki-woki.net/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/2192251561_362cfa829b_o.jpg

Dumb album cover, but the album is one of the best this year.

So far this year... so good. Then again when Nas starts doing more stuff, I'll go head over heels. I cant find Swagga Like Us pt 2 which is rumored to have him on it!!! It's driving me crazy.

I liked it alot more than Guero and the Infomation, but I still think Midnight Vultures and Sea Change are his best albums.
