2010 College Football Thread

That's right. College football started. And it is obviously much more awesome than pro. So, let's talk some football.

Who is your team? How are they expected to do this year? How do you think they will do? Feel free to discuss big games, etc as well, and to talk trash to rivals. That means you Oklahoma. We'll see you in the big 12 championship to kick your butts.

This week for sure I'm looking forward to V.Tech vs Boise St. I really hope Boise gets thrashed. Someone with their schedule does not deserve a national title shot. Win one tough game and expect things? I don't think so.

As for my Huskers, I know we are a dark horse for the national championship, however I don't see it happening. We will probably win our big games, but then lose to some cupcake team by giving up 8 turnovers or something.

Not going to happen. We aren't that good. We are good, but not '90s good. Don't get me wrong, I hope we make it there too, but chances are we won't. The only reason we get tons of hype anymore is by riding the SUH train.

What's up with all the Michigan State people on these boards? As someone from South Bend, I was convinced MSU didn't even have fans. People only loved Notre Dame and Michigan back there.

Nope. He called our (old) offense finesse... **** him Our old offense destroyed people (just ask Ulti about those 70 points) He wants us to run more. We are in Lubbock ****ing Texas. You don't get the same talent he did in the SEC. You have to have a gimmick to win in Lubbock...he is ****ing with our gimmickrawsavon

Meh, it is kind of a boring season for us. We don't really play any good teams around Texas (no offense big 12 north). So it is definitely the game that will garnish the most hype for us this season. If we win that, it's smooth sailings to the big 12 title game.

Yeah, that is the one most experts have us losing. But until they show a little defense, I'm not TOO worried about them. But they are definitely better than the competition we will see in the north.

This year is going to be exciting Boise State is going to crash the national title game and people are going to be crying :cry:. I can see all the sports reporter and elitist saying they don't deserve it. Can't wait to see what happens.

Teams can't control their conference schedules; they can only control their non-conference. Boise St is playing two ranked non-conference foes - V Tech and Oregon St, one of which (V Tech) is a road game.

Your team is playing South Dakota St... a Div 1-AA school....at home. You've got no business talking smack about anyone else's schedule.

I expect Florida to win the SEC East. Beat the hell out of Florida State and Georgia.... :evil:

Agreed. Bosie beats just about anything thrown their way. Its not their fault the "Better" teams are scared to put Boise in their schedule.

North Texas Mean Green until I decide where to transfer for fall of 2011.

UNT has a terrible football team and the coach has to win at least 7 games this year or kick rocks. They're opening a pretty nice new stadium next season.

Nebraska and Boise St both had (still have?) need of one more opponent on their 2011 schedule. As luck would have it, their open date is the same date. But Nebraska won't add Boise to their calendar because "It wouldn't be smart scheduling".

On a side note, Boise St. will never get into the "Pac 12" because of academics, and also because they suck in other worthwhile sports. Having a good football team doesn't merit membership.

Yeah ok first I'm not really a Boise St. fan. It's just lame how people always diss them. They try to schedule tough opponents but no one wants to play them. I give props to them for calling out any big name school and laugh at the opponents running scared. They've been trying to get in bigger conferences for awhile but its all bout the money for the conferences. Joining the MWC is a step forward hopefully next year the PAC will send them an invite. And the it was the first game excuse is lame Boise seem to play perfectly good that first game.
