[QUOTE="airg6"][QUOTE="amirbrandon"]No, Kanye West's music is much more meaningful, catchy, and awesome. If you mock someone, you know you're low. And to the people that say Kanye West sucks, more people listen to him than a lot of the Rock you listen to. Rock artists are barely noticed, I don't know more than half of the rockers you guys talk about, and they're never on TV and don't get any awards or any of that... Rap and Hip-Hop is what's all over the media, not rock. I don't find screaming and smashing a guitar to be talent.xboxplayer1990

Thats why Metal and rock artists are so good. The best music will not be found in the mainstream. Screaming and growling actually takes more talent and endurence than rapping does. Also,I dont know what you mean by"mashing on a guitar". If bands did that, then no one would listen to them.It sounds like you dont know one thing about music or guitar playing for that matter.

lol at screaming and growling. The only reason vocalists do that is because their lyrics suck so bad that they don't want people to understand them and because they can't sing.

Lets see you scream with the agression, emotion and stamina that Death metal singers do every night and be able to keep your voice. Try and sing like a death metal vocalist. It quite hard to do.

The whole thing is why would I wanna growl like a moron? They sound like they are having a bowel movement during a song. It sounds really disturbing and that's why death metal will never be popular.

Its an aquired taste. You have to listen to it for awhile to appreciate it. Plus thats the main thing every person who dosent like Metal focus's on. Try listening to the other instruments playing in the song.

Ok how are you even APPEALED by "Death Metal"?? Death? Isn't that an odd type of music to listen to? ...Death? That's really nice... Even walking back from rap music, R&B music is actually singing with twists in the voice and different tones and such. How does screaming appeal to you?

You'll never understand with the frame of mind your in. Try and listen to Opeth. They dont just growl. They sing aswell. Not to mention that they have more talent than many mainstream rappers out today.

Doesn't mean what they're doing is good to listen to.

For me it is. I love The screaming and growling that Death metal artists use. Its invigorating. It makes me want to go run.

Makes you want to run? I'm struggling to tell if you're being serious

Death Metal gets you goin and makes you want to just go do something.

That's what worries me. :P But sereously, there are other types of music that are civilized and would make you want to go do "something".

I dont understand why you think Death metal artists are stupid. Most of them are more intelligent than your average rapper. Also, what do you expect Death Metal lyrics to talk about?Flowers? Death Metal lyrics can be stupid at times. But for the most part, there are some good Death Metal lyricists.

In reality 50 had 2-3 good albums, not the albums after "get rich or die tryin" but the ones before like "Power of a Dollar" I was impressed. But anyways , I knew 50 would do something like that but either way both him and love lockdown currently aren't good.

50 needs to stop with this gangster rap....look at his house on cribs and you can tell he's not a gangster

and I used to think Kanye was real, but common love lockdown? so i guess he's an rnb singer now

kanye is just crap lyrically. the beat is the only good thing about his songs. 50 cent started to be crap after the first album. Both artist are decent when in the club

I'm not a big fan of 50 and I do like Kanye better, but that was kinda funny.

50 gonna lose in album sales though.

Honestly, they both suck right now, listen to some Lupe, Nas, or the old Bone Thugs-N-harmony albums.

Fav albums from Fiddy: Guess Who's Back & Power of the Dollar

Fav albums from Kanye: Prolly Graduation. College Dropout & Late Registration aren't bad either.

I like 50's first 3 albums. The two independent releases, and the major label debut Get Rich or Die Tryin are all pretty good. Lately, he's GARBAGE though. I'd still rather listen to him than Lil Wayne, Eminem, and a few other garbage emcees though.

I love Kanye West's first album, his second album bores me but it's still good, and I'm not into the whole "electric" type of production he used on his last album. Dude needs to make soul beats, period, then I'll think about listening to his new work.

Most of the people in this thread are bashing rap....they obviously know nothing about it. And im not talking about the crap on the radio, listen to older rap, or less popular artists. But Kanye is about the only true good rap artist right now (along with The Game and a few others) so he is definately better than the Game.

I loved Kanye's first two albums. I agree with the whole "electric" comment. I think he fell into the whole mainstream pressure a bit too much, but maybe he was just exploring his own creativity, who knows.

Oh there's no doubt he's trying to please mainstream listeners, especially with his AWFUL use of the auto-tune effect on most of his new material. He needs slapped. T-Pain is the only one that should use the auto-tune, period, he's the only one that doesn't sound like an idiot on it(Even though he does release some garbage at times)

Hahaha, T Pain still sounds like an idiot with it, I think it's just that we're all so used to hearing him use it that we've just grown to accept it. I like to call it the T Pain Effect.

[QUOTE="Nifty_Shark"]Kanye is my choice. Easy to ignore the actual person and just enjoy the music.bigblunt537

agreed 50 had 1 good album with get rich or die tryin but kanye's flow and lyrics are more poetic then 50's.

Agreed

If I listened to rap, I would prefer Kanye. 50's lyrical content gets old and repetative. Of course my opinion is based only off what I've heard on the radio.

And Airg6, stop turning every musical thread into metal >> than your music.

They both do quite a few good songs, I don't see why all the hate on these guys, they are popular for a reason and that's because a lot of people like them.

Popular doesn't mean good. Soulja Boy and Linkin Park are also popular...

Haha never. They are both great, but Kayne's songs are just are just so much better. Kayne is going to bounce back.
