Diego Maradonna said he would streak naked if the won the cup. I think I may have to root against Argentina just to prevent that. :P

I don't really care for soccer. I played it once and got a 2nd place trophy for it but it wasn't my kind of sport. It's pretty fun though.

I'm always excited for the World Cup. I'll probably end up watching pretty much every non-clashing match, all in lovely HD.

Sadly I think the English team of 4 years ago was stronger – all of our players were in their prime back then. Gerrard's not played well this season, Lampard's a terrible England player (statistically the worst player in the entire world cup 4 years ago). Can't see us getting past the quarters personally…

LOL - we should win fairly comfortably, although losing to the USA wouldn't surprise me :P

I predict 3-1 England. The US just doesn't have the pedigree for soccer like England.

True, but the US aren't perennial underachievers like us Brits! Let's hope its a good game to kick off the campaign anyway. Shame its at 4am over here in Oz :(

I don't know, Gerrard is still one of the best midfielders to grace the game.. Rooney is improving.. we have a great defence all in all.. And Capello is showing promise, i think we'll go far if not all the way.. also hope ;)

Oh I hope too – would love for us to lift that cup. I just can't help but feel that oh-so-British cynicism and low expectation. Still, I can't wait – s'gonna be good nevertheless!

I live in Australia and - between you and me - I wouldn't mind see them lose. They're bad losers out here, but even worse when they win...

Canada also has little interest in soccer, although that is because we are horrible at it. I only watch a bit of soccer during the World Cup

I think Brazil will win, I believe they are ranked #1, but not too sure

LOL. You don't have it as bad as Spain. They always seem to choke in the cup. England should do fine . . . as long as it doesn't come to penalty kicks. :P

oh, I was unaware of that. Guess I know now why my dad is supporting England and New Zealand!
