I'll just post my responses from another 80s thread:
1. Like A Prayer-Madonna
2. Running Up That Hill-Kate Bush
3. When Doves Cry-Prince
4. Time After Time-Cyndi Lauper
5. Sweet Child O' Mine-Guns N' Roses
6. These Dreams-Heart
7. Just Like Heaven-The Cure
8. Self Control-Laura Branigan
9. Total Eclipse of the Heart-Bonnie Tyler
10. Atmosphere-Joy Division
11. Fool's Gold-The Stone Roses
12. Oh Father (Madonna) So hauntingly gorgeous. The sob in her voice gives this song so much emotion.
13. Cloudbusting (Kate Bush) I love the strings and the banjo in this song. It makes the track sound exotic.
14. Hounds of Love (Kate Bush) The title track of a masterful album. Nuff said.
Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears for Fears is one of my favorites of all time, but since Pirate all ready listed it, I'll link to Shout.
15. I Could Give You A Mirror (Eurythmics) I actually like this more than the much more famous Sweet Dreams.
16. Here Comes The Rain Again (Eurythmics) I love the transition from the darker verses to the warm refrain.
17. Live To Tell (Madonna) One of the greatest ballads of the 80s. It's such a mystical and beautiful song and the "If I ran away..." apart is one of the greatest moments in pop music.
18. This Charming Man (The Smiths) Morrisey's solo music is sh!t, but man that dude can sing. Listen to how nimble his vocals are on this song.
19. Breakout (Swing Out Sister) This song is a slice of jazzy pop euphoria and the deep vocals are addictive.
20. In Your Eyes (Peter Gabriel) Another beautifully mystical song. I personally think this song is better than any of Phil Collins' solo hits.
21. Behind the Lines (Genesis) I love this fusion of Motown and prog rock. Those two shouldn't mix, but they make it work wonderfully.
22. It's My Life (Talk Talk) This original version b!tchslaps the No Doubt cover.
