Narnia is a given since the series has 7 books to it, but the rest, why? especially transformers 4. I'm sure they'll be making those till the end of time.

Anchorman 2

Pineapple Express 2

Trainspotting 2

Zoolander 2

Hallenbeck77

I so hope all of these go ahead :D

I can tell you right now Anchorman 2 is not happening at all. The following was taken from the director's twitter account last year:

So bummed. Paramount basically passed on Anchorman 2. Even after we cut our budget down. We tried.

To all who asked: no we can't do Anchorman 2 at another studio. Paramount owns it.

So much for that. :(

That's too bad, would have loved to see a sequel :(

I heard Ghostbusters 3 was like: down to Bill Murray or something. Like it was up to him whether or not they do it.

Ferris Beullers Day Off: From Work

They're making Hunger games right now, and probably both sequels. Also MIB 3, I don't know if you said that.

I hate the film industry. It's been empty for pretty much the past decade.

You should watch a movie called Unthinkable.

It was an original idea. It hasn't been dead, you just need to look under the dead bodies.

I get the feeling a number of these are simply ideas that don't really have a chance to come out. Xmen 4? 300 2?

I use the word dead but i mean really its on life support.

Over the past ten years there's been about 10-15 great films.

I stopped going to the cinema about 5 years ago. Its just terrible now.

People seriously need to stop complaining about the lack of originality. There's plenty of original movies coming out every year, you just have to actually look for them. If you have such a problem with sequels, don't see any of them, and give your money to the original pictures.

Hollywood is done. No creativity what so ever. Like do we really need another step up movie? i mean the 1st one wasn't a gem in the first place. and another scream really? like the 4th one wasn't bad enough they have to waste more money making a 5 and 6. my god another sex and city? what bimbo are they going to get for transformers 4?

The ones i plan on seeing:

Tron 3

Zombieland 2

Slient Hill 2

Ghost Busters 3

Zoolander 2

Men in black 3

Iron Man 3

the rest of them would be a waste of my $14.

[QUOTE="The_Gaming_Baby"][QUOTE="Zaibach"]300 2? Youre making this up

Maybe they'll call it 301

I'd prefer if they call it 300 the battle of "Insert stufff here" or 300 legacy or 300 the beggining But 302 sounds stupid if you ask me

Like somebody else said, no wonder hollywood going down. Went and seen a movie today, it cost me 10 dollars. 10 freaking dollars. I could buy a movie with that much. Another thing, when I was paying for my ticket, this family in front of me spent 43 dollars go see a two and half hour movie.

Buddy, you really need to learn a bit more about how the industry is structured. One actor says in an interview 'Oh yeah the line producer had a small idea that someone said was cool' and suddenly theres speculation over a sequel that quickly gets talked about as being 'in development' (which can mean anything, scriptwriting is development and there is NO guarantee at that stage).

Do some research already, pal. Theres holes to be poked in most of these.

For example:

300 sequel: Never existed, talk of a prequel, yes. 4 YEARS AGO.

Anchorman 2: Confirmed not to be happening

Amazing Spiderman 2: No way will Sony have greenlit (ooh, terminology) a sequel to a tentative reboot of a burdensome franchise that hasnt even been released yet. Discussions, yes. Screenwriting, yes. But actually happening? Not til long after release date will they decide that. In fact, if the film isnt completely funded out of the directors pocket, you can assume that no sequel is certain without the first film at least making 1 and a 1/2 times its budget.

Avatar 2: Cameron stated before Avatars release that he envisioned it as a trilogy, and its all coming out of his pocket so its not surprising. I mean its not like it was the most successful film of all time.. oh wait...

Bad Boys 3: Again, talked about, speculated, but not confirmed. Will Smith and Michael Bay draw two of the highest salaries in Hollywood, so they wouldnt make it without a certainty it could make at least $4-500mil

Cloverfield 2: No-one related to the first film is available anytime soon and just a few months ago Matt Reeves explicitly stated they still had no idea how to continue it, despite wanting to. Dont hold your breath for that one.

Die Hard 5 IS happening, Die Hard 6 will again not have been in any way confirmed

Final Destination 5 came out a while ago...

Ghostbusters 3, been in the works for nearly 20 years, gone through countless different drafts and scripts and iterations and the only consistent hold-up is Bill Murray. Again, dont expect to see that in his lifetime.

Green Lantern 2: Not a chance. Not a sequel to that trainwreck. They were penning the sequel before last years effort was released, and after it was, a few months later Warner Bros. said they were abandoning ship. Geoff Johns may be promising a live-action follow up of some sort but it'll either be a reboot or a terrible tv series and either would be a few years away.

Indy 5: Wont happen anytime soon, Harrison Fords a senile old man that still thinks he looks convincing punching Nazi's and has publicly stated that he wouldnt allow them to pass the baton to Shia LeBeouf despite that being the obvious set up in KOTS

Kung-Fu Panda 3: Yep. With plans for 3 more after that. OMG!?!111!

Monsters 2: Nope. That just isnt happening at all. Gareth Edwards never said as much and hes busy with Godzilla and Timur B. and it isnt like you could bring back the only 2 actors he had under his employ

Pineapple Express 2: Again, its just years old speculation, nothing else.

Predators 2 was announced at launch, but after a disappointing result, no word on it has surfaced in a long time...

Sin City 2: Theyve been trying to get this made literally since the last one came out... thats 7 years, how much longer do you need for a sequel to seem like legitimate film-making then dude?

Trainspotting 2: You mean Porno. And no, also never happening.

True Lies 2: Hahaha. Yeah, Im sure Camerons going to step away from Avatar and Battle Angel to rework a thin premise from the 90's

Wanted 2: "Wanted 2 sounds like it will not happen any time soon if at all" "We want to make it if it's right and when it's right, and that might not be ever." Quotes from Wanteds producer and lead actor, respectively.

X-Men 4: Clearly not happening whilst First Class is about, not to mention Marvel Studios already have 3 different timelines/universes their films are set in, why bring back a 4th?

Zombieland 2: No word on that in 2 years. Dont hold your breath. A genuine shame, really.

Now, obviously thats leaving out a few on your list as many are blatant choices for a sequel, even if you know nothing about the film industry.

But more than a few on your list are not only already on release/days from release but are in fact films of the past which suggests really that overall your uninspired, reductive vitriol towards 'Hollywood' far exceeds your actual knowledge of film in general.

I will say I too find myself often cursing the rebooting of a long dead franchise (or worse, one thats not been dead long enough) or an undeserved sequel, but this whole shocking naivety people have towards successful films getting sequels is just ridiculous.

ITS CALLED MONEY PEOPLE, ITS WHAT KEEPS THE WORLD SPINNING.

Not to mention, you wouldnt complain if you had a better taste in films, if you watched all the ones that come out every year full of genuinely original ideas and inspired thoughts.

And just for those of you who truly believe that all original thought in film is dead, look into something called the Blacklist and learn something. Looking into independent studios couldnt hurt either, learn something.

Then you can come back and run your mouth off if you still feel the need..

That's not the real problem with Hollywood. This and this are. Also, if it's not a joke, this qualifies.

Now this man makes a fair case. Anyone else think that Jonah Hills extreme and sudden weight loss must be down to a solid regimen of cocaine, laxatives and constant abuse? Either that or he snapped and spent all his money on lipo.
